Senior outfielder Frank Compagnone (Winter Springs, Fla.) has been named Student-Athlete of the Week for March 2-9. Compagnone anchored the Huskies' offense by going 6-for-10 (.600) at the plate with four RBI and three runs scored. He went 3-for-4 in the Huskies' 7-1 victory over Valparaiso and was 3-for-4 again in a 13-9 setback to Bowling Green State. Compagnone leads the team with a .571 average for the season and ten RBI.

In addition to his stellar work with the bat, Compagnone has played solid defense in center field, making 14 putouts without committing an error and making a spectacular diving catch to end an inning against the Boston Red Sox on March 3.

Compagnone, one of three captains on the squad, batted .343 last season with 19 RBI and 17 runs scored.

The Huskies are 4-3 after their swing through central Florida to start the year. Next up on the slate for the Huskies is a three-game trek to Philadelphia this weekend for games against St. Joe's, Temple and Villanova.
