The Huskies lost their third straight game to Miami, falling 5-3 to the No. 6 Hurricanes on March 25. It was the Huskies' sixth straight loss overall and ended the team's annual spring trip to Florida. NU gave rookie starting pitcher Jordan Thomson a 3-1 lead, and he left after allowing three runs through 4 1/3 innings. Jason Gillespie came on and took the loss in relief as Miami scored single runs in the sixth and seventh innings to put the game away.
