Junior co-captain Jen North scored two goals and sophomore Jess Pfeifer picked up two assists, lead the Huskies to a 3-1 over America East rival Vermont at Centennial Field on Thursday.
Redshirt freshman Kristin Kowalik got Northeastern on the board with her team-leading 10th goal of the season, scoring on a one-time pass from Pfeifer at 23:48. North added her first goal of the game less than a minute later, heading in the corner kick from Pfeifer to give NU a two-goal advantage.
North put the game out of reach in the 80th minute on a pass from Andi Matthews to put the Huskies up, 3-0. Vermont would finally get a goal just two minutes later from Jamie Koehnlein on a penalty kick, but it was all the offense that the Catamounts could pick up on the day.
Vermont outshot Northeastern, 15-14, as junior goalkeeper Cynthia Slowik made 11 saves to preserve the win. The Huskies improve to 9-5 overall and 3-2 in America East play, while the Catamounts drop to 5-5-3 overall and 1-3-1 in the conference.
Northeastern returns to action on Sunday afternoon, as the Huskies host America East foe Hartford at 1 p.m. on Parsons Field.
