In a game that was rescheduled from Friday evening due to rain, the Huskies jumped on the board first with a pair of first-inning runs. The first three NU batters reached and then Paul Kozlowski drew a walk off Northwestern starter Dan Konecny to force in Brad Czarnowski with the first run of the game. Brian Nutting then bounced into a double-play to score Erik Hagstrom.

It would be all the offense the Huskies would need as Monds was dominant. The Wildcats got a run back in the top of the second, but Monds cruised the rest of the way to earn his first win of the season (1-1). Hagstrom finished 2-3 at the plate for the Huskies.
