Delaware 4, Northeastern 3

Delaware's Jessi Balmer scored twice in the final seven minutes of regulation to upset visiting 12th-ranked Northeastern, 4-3, Saturday afternoon at Rullo Stadium.

The Huskies fall to 5-3 on the season, while the Blue Hens improve to 6-2.

NU junior Mari Creatini's five-point effort was mired by the loss. With the Huskies trailing 2-0 late in the first half, Creatini scored her 10th goal of the season on a penalty stroke with less than a minute before the break. At 44:56 of the game, Creatini tied the game at 2 with an unassisted goal, then fired a pass to Leigh Shea four minutes later to put NU ahead 3-2 at 44:19.

Balmer's first score came at 63:41, as she knocked home a rebound after a penalty-corner shot to tie the game at 3. Only 3:10 later, Balmer converted a pass from Erica LeBar for the game winner.

Delaware held a slight edge in both shots (9-6) and penalty corners (6-3).
