Senior Jose Juan Barea and sophomore Shawn James each turned in double-double efforts while junior Bennet Davis scored a career-high 21 points to lead Northeastern to an 80-66 victory over Delaware on Thursday night at the Bob Carpenter Center.

It was the eighth double-double effort for Barea, who scored a game-high 26 points with 10 assists, while James turned in his ninth, recording 15 points and 10 blocked shots, a Carpenter Center record. Both Barea and James nearly registered triple-doubles as well, as Barea finished the night with seven rebounds and James recorded eight for the Huskies.(16-10, 11-6 CAA).

The win snaps a nine-game losing streak for Northeastern at Delaware and is the Huskies' third straight victory. The loss meanwhile, snaps the Fightin' Blue Hens' (8-19, 4-13 CAA) two-game CAA winning streak.

The Huskies used a solid shooting performance to turn a two-point lead at the half into as many as 21 points in the second. Bennet Davis led the way shooting, converting 8-of-9 shots and 4-of-5 from the stripe. Northeastern pushed the margin to 12 points in the first 5:11 of the second behind a pair of threes from Barea and one from Davis during a 17-7 run to open the half. The Huskies finished the night shooting 50.8 percent from the floor.

The first half was a tightly played contest, in which both teams put up 32 shots, with Northeastern sinking 16 shots and Delaware 15. Barea led the way in the first with 14 points for NU, while Harding Nana led the Blue Hens with 12 points and Rulon Washington had 10.

Bennet Davis also grabbed six boards in the victory, while senior Aaron Davis poured in nine points, all in the second half. Senior Janon Cole scored seven points and grabbed six rebounds. Defensively, Northeastern turned in 14 steals, led by four from Aaron Davis and three from James.

Nana finished the night with 24 points and eight rebounds and Washington scored 15 for Delaware. Freshman Zaire Taylor registered five assists and five points for the Blue Hens, who have assured their first losing season at home in the BCC at 4-7.
