Davis had a big night all-around as he reeled in seven rebounds and blocked four shots, adding five assists. Janning came up huge for the second consecutive game as he pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, dished four assists and blocked two shots.

The Huskies posted 20 assists while only turning the ball over nine times as every Husky that played recorded at least one assist. NU got nice distribution from its starting frontcourt as Davis and Manny Adako combined for nine assists. The Hens had only nine assists as a team while the Huskies forced 11 Delaware turnovers and held UD to 36.8 percent shooting. The Hens shot 33.3 percent from behind the arc, hoisting 24 long balls and converting on only eight. NU shot 50.0 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from 3-point range. The Huskies gained a significant advantage with their 3-point shooting, hitting only one fewer 3-pointer while attempting seven less than Delaware. This was the second game in a row the Huskies shot 50 percent in the game and over 60 percent in the second half.

NU jumped out to an early five-point lead at 13-8, as the Huskies got a number of easy scores early on with four baskets inside the paint in the first five minutes. On the game, NU outscored Delaware, 24-16, in the paint. Delaware played the Huskies tough the entire game and whittled a nine-point first half deficit down to four points heading into the second half with the score 28-24 at the break.

After the 17-minute mark in the first half, Delaware never led in the game. The Hens also did not trail by more than 11 points until the 3:12 point in the second half when the Huskies took a 12-point lead, their largest of the game, on a deep three pointer from Bobby Kelly with the shot clock running down. Leading the vast majority of the game, the Huskies were never able to put the Hens away but NU converted on 87.7 percent of its free throw attempts and converted 8-of-10 in the last two minutes to secure the win.

The Huskies are back in action when they host Drexel this Mon., Jan. 29 at 7 p.m.
