The Northeastern University women's soccer team (1-1) dropped the second game of the season, 2-0, Sunday, Sept. 2 against St. Francis at the Akron Tournament.
"We came out slow and made a mistake that led to an easy goal in the first half," said head coach Ed Matz. "After that we controlled possession but couldn't create scoring chances."
Rachel Seibert scored off a breakaway down the left side of the field in the first half for St. Francis and Alanna Vespa kicked in a rebound late in the second half to put the Red Flash up 2-0.
The Huskies managed just two shots on goal in the game.
Northeastern's first home contest is Friday, Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. when they host Harvard at Parsons Field.
