The women's soccer team lost a physical battle with Minnesota Sunday 3-0 at Parsons Field.
The Huskies were out shot 8-0 in the first period but three saves by senior goalie Annie Petrofsky kept the score a 1-0 at halftime.
In the second half the Gophers got goals from Lindsey Schwartz and Katie Bethke to take a 3-0 lead.
Junior forward Jenna Lucchesi had two shots on goal late in the second half that almost put the Huskies on the board but Minnesota keeper Chelsey Turner kept the shutout intact.
The Huskies begin CAA play Friday with a 7 p.m. game at George Mason.
