The No. 8 Northeastern Huskies (10-4-2, 6-3-2-1 Hockey East) fell in overtime on Friday night at Boston College (5-6-6, 4-3-3-3 Hockey East), 3-2 at Conte Forum. Danielle Welch provided the heroics for Boston College, potting the game-winner just 49 seconds into the extra frame. Freshman

For the second consecutive game, the Huskies fell behind in the first period as Ashley Motherwell cashed in on a power play opportunity only 2:08 into the game. Blake Bolden and Allie Thunstrom earned assists on the goal, Motherwell's fourth of the season.

Kasey Cedorchuk, Pickett collected the puck and fired it past BC netminder Corinne Boyles (20 saves) for the equalizer at 5:07.
The tie did not last long.
Boston College snatched the lead back 1:36 later as Welch scored her first goal of the game off a feed from Shannon Webster. The Eagles would hold the 2-1 advantage until midway through the third period, when Hogan struck with her second of the season to tie the score at two with 9:07 remaining.
The Huskies' defense held the fort in the third period, withstanding five Boston College power plays in a 14 minute span. Schelling fought off eight pucks in the frame to extend the contest to overtime.
The Eagles went to work quickly, firing a barrage of pucks at the Husky net in the opening minute. Schelling stopped the first three shots she faced, but could not keep the fourth out, as Welch stuffed home the game winner, her second of the game. The loss was the Huskies' first away from home this season.
After falling to New Hampshire on Nov. 29, the Huskies fell in consecutive games for the first time in 2009. In addition, Northeastern is now 2-4-2 when surrendering the first goal in a game this season.
Following a 27-day layoff, the Huskies return to action on New Year's Day at Yale at 3 p.m.
