Nkem Ojougboh led the Huskies with 15 points and seven rebounds. Hofstra's Charles Jenkins led all scorers with 20.

Matt Janning dumped in his first two points on a deep jumper after swiping a pass at the other end of the court.
Hofstra's defense cracked down, but the Huskies countered it with crisp passing, hard drives to the hoop and off-ball screens. Northeastern twice used the long ball to regain leads—Joel smith broke a 19-19 tie with a three-pointer at 7:19 and
Baptiste Bataille's trey at 5:01 put the Huskies up 27-25. The Huskies went into the locker room with a 37-35 advantage.
The second half started with both teams trading buckets for the first few minutes before Hofstra knotted up the score 43-43 at 14:43. The Pride built a seven-point lead, as Jenkins heated up in the second half. His three-pointer at 9:27 made it 56-49 Hofstra.
The Huskies responded as
Chaisson Allen tallied five straight points to knot the score 61-61 at 3:19, but Hofstra ended the game on a 12-1 run to nail the game down. The Huskies scored just one point the rest of the way and were 0-for-7 from the field to end the game.
Despite shooting just 40 percent from the field, Northeastern was 15-for-19 (79 percent) from the free throw line and forced 16 Hofstra turnovers. Although the game ended in a double-digit margin, the contest featured 11 ties and 11 lead changes.
Northeastern still has a chance at the CAA regular season championship, needing a win at George Mason coupled with an Old Dominion loss to VCU. The Huskies play at noon Saturday, and the Monarchs host the Rams at 4 p.m.
