Maarje van Rijswijk scored both goals for the Lady Monarchs just seven minutes apart. The first goal came at the 13:21 mark when she potted a rebound off a Paige Clutter shot. Then, at the 20:37 mark, van Rijswijk found the back of the net again when she took a Kathryn Kirk pass and beat sophomore goaltender
Lizzie Priest. The goals were van Rijswijk's first two goals of the year.
Northeastern battled back in the second half, outshooting Old Dominion, 5-2, and earned three penalty corners. However, Lady Monarchs goaltender Devon Seifert made six saves, including three in the second half, to earn her first career shutout in just her third career start.
