Women's soccer fell to the No. 21 William & Mary Tribe on Sunday afternoon at Parsons Field, 3-1. The Huskies are now 8-7-1 on the season and 4-3-1 in the CAA.

The two teams played mostly in the midfield for the first ten minutes of the match.

William & Mary got on the board in the 11th minute when midfielder Mallory Schaffer scored her 13th goal of the season off a corner by Cortlyn Bristol.

The Tribe added to their lead in the 24th minute. Schaffer took a feed from Emory Camper just outside the box and then buried a shot that sliced into the lower right corner. The goal was her 14th of the season.

In the 32nd minute, Schaffer fed Audrey Barry on a long run from the right side of the field, near the edge of the penalty area. The pass was on point and Barry scored her second tally of the year to put the Tribe up, 3-0.

The Huskies came out aggressive in the second half, putting several shots on net.

Forward Greta Samuelsdottir finally put Northeastern on the board in the 48th minute. She was assisted on the goal by Sandra Magnusdottir who delivered a precise cross from the right side of the field on a rush to a streaking Samuelsdottir. The goal was her seventh of the year.

Northeastern pressured the remainder of the match with shots from Veronica Napoli, Hanna Terry, Awnalisa Walker and Lahaina Zoller.

The Huskies had a span of four straight corner kicks and five shots in three minutes late in the second half. The flurry produced several good scoring opportunities but Northeastern could not find the back of the net.

William & Mary however, held on for their 13th win of the season, staying perfect at 8-0-0 in the conference.

The Huskies outshot the Tribe, 20-19, and freshman goalkeeper Paige Burnett made five stops on the day.

Northeastern returns to action on Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. when they travel to take on UNC Wilmington.
