The Northeastern women's soccer team played to a 0-0 tie on Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia against Drexel.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net through 90 minutes of regulation or in two ten-minute overtime periods.

Drexel got off to a quick start, registering the first six shots of the game. Freshman goalkeeper Paige Burnett made three stops within the first 22 minutes of the match, keeping the Huskies level. In making six total saves in the game, Burnett also recorded the third shutout of her rookie campaign.

Kirby Anderson took Northeastern's first shot in the 32nd minute, pushing it wide.

Sophomore midfielder Hannah O'Donnell had a shot saved in the 60th minute and junior defender Sandra Magnusdottir put a shot high over the crossbar just a minute and a half later.

Freshman forward Lahaina Zoller gave Northeastern its best chance to score in the 79th minute when her shot rang off the post, just inches from giving the Huskies a one goal lead.

Both teams put several shots towards goal late in the second half, but the match went into overtime.

Senior Veronica Napoli had three shots in the first overtime period but all were saved by the Drexel goalkeeper.

Fatigue took its toll in the second overtime. Each team only took one shot as the match ended in a draw.

The Dragons and the Huskies each finished with 17 shots on the game, with Northeastern holding a slight advantage, 7-6, in shots on goal. Napoli led Northeastern with four shots on goal in the match. Drexel held an eight to two advantage in corner kicks.

Northeastern now sits at 6-5-1 on the season and is 2-1-1 in conference action. The Huskies return to the field when they play George Mason on Friday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. in Fairfax, Va.
