CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – After erasing a two-goal deficit to take a 3-2 lead midway through the period, the No. 9/8 Northeastern women's ice hockey team (8-3-2, 4-3-1) saw Melissa Bizarri score twice in the final 11 minutes of regulation to lift No. 5/6 Boston College (6-3-2, 4-3-1) past the Huskies 4-3.

The Huskies received goals from three different scorers, including two tallies on the power play, while Chloe Desjardins made 29 saves in goal. BC held a slight 33-32 edge in shots for the game while NU was 2-of-4 on the power play.

Boston College picked up right where it left off on Friday night by jumping out to an early first period lead.  Alex Carpenter buried her 10th goal of the season less than eight minutes into the game off a feed from Blake Bolden with the Eagles on the power play.

Nine minutes later, Kaliya Johnson notched her first collegiate goal on a slap shot from the point that made its way through traffic and beat Desjardins. NU would cut the deficit in half with 17 seconds left in the frame when Claire Santostefano hammered home a power play goal with assists going to Colleen Murphy and Maggie DiMasi.

Northeastern would level the game at two apiece five minutes into the third period as Casey Pickett netted her 12th of the season, and third of the weekend. The Huskies would then take its first lead of the weekend when Paige Savage scored a power play goal off a pass from Kendall Coyne.

The lead would be short-lived, however, as Bizzari tied the game just 32 seconds later on a rebound before she buried the game-winner with 39 seconds left in regulation when she found room on the side of the net and beat Desjardins for the score.

The Huskies will be back in action on Saturday when NU hosts Team Russia in an exhibition contest at Matthews Arena at 7 p.m.
