COLUMBUS, OHIO- Freshman Bailey Bruckmann made her first career appearance in goal and saved both shots she faced, but the Northeastern women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Ohio State on Friday night in Columbus, Ohio. The loss drops the Huskies to 0-2 on the young season.

Paige Burnett made the start in goal for the Huskies and took her second loss of the season. Bruckmann played the final 11 minutes of the contest in net. Rachel Middleman got the nod between the pipes for the Buckeyes, and saved the lone shot on goal she faced to record the shutout.

Rookie Morgan Hilby led the Huskies in shots with two, including NU's lone shot on goal. The Buckeyes outshot NU, 13-7, on the day.

The Buckeyes got on the board in the 20th minute, when Tiffany Cameron scored her first goal of the season following a chase with Burnett to a loose ball. Burnett was able to originally knock the ball away, but fell in the scrum, leaving Cameron an empty net to punch in the easy tally.

Hanna Terry and Morgan Hilby generated the two best chances for NU in the first half, but Terry's blast sailed just high and Hilby's chance was corralled by Middleman. Ohio State took its 1-0 lead into the break.

The Huskies first chance of the second half came in the 59th minute, when senior captain Greta Samuelsdottir served in a free kick to sophomore Lahaina Zoller, but the Hawaiian's shot skipped just wide of net.

Ohio State tacked onto its lead in the 61st, with  Lauren Granberg sneaking a header past Burnett off a cross from Michela Paradiso. The Buckeyes struck again in the 67th minute, with a Marisa Wolf blast to make it 3-0.

The Huskies conclude their two-game Ohio road swing on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bearcats of the Big East. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
