Box Score BOSTON – The Northeastern women's soccer team earned a 1-1 tie after battling Northwestern through two overtime periods at Parsons Field Friday night.
Lahaina Zoller scored her first goal of the season in the final seconds of the first half to give Northeastern (0-2-1) a 1-0 lead.
Breeana Koemans set up the NU goal with a beautiful service near the six-yard box, and Zoller buried the ball into the bottom-left corner of the net.
The Wildcats (0-2-1) knotted the game in the 67th minute when Katie Landgrebe chipped a shot over
Paige Burnett and into the back of the net.
Despite allowing a goal, Burnett was outstanding in net by recording a season-high nine saves. She now has 21 saves through three games.
On the offensive end,
Hanna Terry finished with a season-high seven shots, five of which were on goal.
Midway through the second overtime Terry drilled a shot heading towards the upper-right corner of the goal, but Northwestern goalkeeper Jenna Hascher made a great save to keep the score tied.
The Huskies have little time to rest as they host South Carolina this Sunday at 1 p.m.
