Huskies, Terriers renew rivalry TuesdayThe Northeastern women's hockey team (2-5-3, 1-3-0 WHEA) will look to pick up a big Hockey East victory on Tuesday evening when it heads across town to face No. 6/6 Boston University (6-2-1, 3-1-0 WHEA) at 7 p.m. The Terriers edged the Huskies, 3-2, on Oct. 28 in a tightly-contested matchup at Walter Brown Arena.
Top-10 tusslesNortheastern will play its fifth game against a top-10 opponent on Tuesday against No. 6/6 BU. Northeastern split a pair of games at No. 8/10 Mercyhurst on Oct. 17-18, before dropping a tight, 3-2, contest at the hands of No. 6/7 Boston University two weeks ago. Coyne, Savage help Americans to silver medal at Four Nations CupJuniors
Kendall Coyne and
Paige Savage helped Team USA earn a silver medal at the 2014 Four Nations Cup in Kamloops, British Columbia. The U.S. finished with a 2-2-0 record to place second behind unbeaten Canada, who beat Team USA in a shootout, 3-2, in the title game. Competing in her fifth Four Nations Cup, Coyne notched an assist on Brianna Decker's second period goal in the championship game.
Krizova, Povova compete for Czechs in JapanFreshman
Denisa Krizova and redshirt junior
Lucie Povova are currently competing for the Czech Republic National Team at the 2015 IIHF Women's World Championship Qualification Series between the Czech Republic and Japan. The three-game series is currently tied, 1-1, after the Czech Republic's 2-0 win on Sunday. Krizova scored the Czechs' second goal midway through the third period to help tie the best-of-three series. Game three is set for Tuesday night in Yokohama, Japan; the winner receives an automatic bid to the 2015 IIHF Women's World Championship in Malmo, Sweden.
Taming the TerriersJunior
Kendall Coyne has historically owned Boston University to the tune of 19 career points (12 goals, seven assists) in just 10 games. Coyne notched a goal and an assist in Northeastern's 3-2 setback at BU on Oct. 28.
