BOSTON --Â Following a thrilling come-from-behind victory on Saturday night, the Northeastern men's soccer team continues its brief home stand on Tuesday when the Huskies welcome Boston University to Parsons Field for a 6 p.m. match.

Last time outTrailing 1-0 in the final two minutes of regulation, Northeastern turned to a pair of freshmen to earn a dramatic, 2-1 overtime victory over UMass Lowell (2-4-0) on a rain-soaked Saturday night at Parsons Field. Rookie
Brad Fountain scored the game-tying goal on a blast from 24 yards out with 1:44 to play, before fellow freshman
Ackim Mpofu won it just 1:02 into extra time with a shot that glanced off a defender in front of the goal.

Never too lateThe Huskies picked up their second victory of the season on Saturday night, doing so in dramatic fashion. Northeastern's overtime win improved the Huskies to 6-1-7 in overtime since the 2012 season. It also marked the first time since Sept. 11, 2011 that NU won a match in the game's first overtime period.

Huskies showing depthThrough just five matches this season, head coach
Brian Ainscough has started 15 different position players. The Huskies had 16 different players earn starts in 18 games last season, 16 in 21 games in 2012 and 14 in 19 games in 2011.

Home cookingParsons Field has been friendly to the Huskies in recent years. Since the 2011 season, Northeastern is 21-4-1 (.827) at home, including a 2-0-0 mark this season. Northeastern also held an 18-game unbeaten streak (17-0-1) at home from Nov. 6, 2010 to Sept. 21, 2013. Here's a look at how the Huskies have fared at home:

Ackim Mpofu won it early in extra time. The two goals in a span of 2:46 marked the quickest that the Huskies have scored twice since the 2012 season, when NU netted a pair of goals in 1:26 against Holy Cross on Sept. 25.

Huskies name 2014 captainsThe Northeastern men's soccer team has chosen its leaders for the 2014 season. Seniors
Jacob Aduama and
Simon Cox, along with redshirt senior
Ambry Moss, were selected as tri-captains for this season. This marks the second straight season that Cox will wear the armband, while Aduama and Moss have earned a captaincy for the first time. Moss and Cox have anchored a defensive line for Northeastern for the last three seasons, while Aduama has provided depth at goalkeeper and provided leadership both on and off the field.

 The series with the TerriersNortheastern and the Terriers will be meeting for the second straight season on Tuesday, with Boston University holding a 19-7-1 edge in the all-time series and NU looking to earn its first victory against its crosstown rivals since 2008. Last season, BU got the better of the Huskies in a 1-0 game at Nickerson Field.

The Terriers are 3-2-0 on the young season, and are paced by the play of Felix De Bona and Lucas McBride, who each have a goal. BU has scored just two goals in five matches this season, but have held its opponents to only two goals, as well.

Ainscough enters 10th seasonHead coach
Brian Ainscough is in his 10th season at Northeastern, becoming the longest tenured head coach in program history. He is 72-72-32 while on Huntington Avenue, and is second in team history in career victories at Northeastern (Ed Matz, 83).

During his time at NU, Ainscough has led the Huskies to three seasons with 10 or more wins, including the 2012 campaign that saw the Huskies capture the program's first-ever CAA championship and return to the national tournament for the first time since 2002.

Ainscough's squads have been known for their staunch defense over the last nine seasons. His teams have allowed 20 goals or fewer four times, while the 2012 (16 goals allowed) and 2013 (19 goals allowed) teams surrendered two of the lowest goals against totals in team history. Overall, Ainscough is 157-146-46 in 19-plus seasons as a head coach.
