Christian McKenna found the back of the net twice for the Huskies, earning his first two goals of the 2014 season.

The win for Northeastern (3-6-0) is the team's first on the road this year, snapping a five-game road losing streak. The Huskies are also a perfect 2-0-0 in overtime matches in 2014.

Northeastern outshot Stony Brook (2-6-1) 10-9, and finished the match with five corners compared to the Seawolves' four.
Dylan Faber replaced
Jonathan Thuresson in net at the start of the second half, and made two saves.

The Huskies dictated the match tempo early in the first half, and were able to move the ball deep into Stony Brook territory.
Frantzdy Pierrot blasted a shot just wide of the net in the opening minutes, and
Lewis Aird curled a shot off the top of the post a few minutes later.

A few offensive miscues for Northeastern gave Stony Brook chances to run the opposite way, and Martin Giordano connected on a volley from Eduardo Valle in the 16th minute to put the Seawolves up 1-0.

Stony Brook would continue to keep the pressure on Northeastern throughout the first half. Thuresson managed to punch out a corner in the 29th minute, but Fernando Wadskier booted a shot through the near post in the 30th minute, and the Seawolves took a 2-0 lead.

Northeastern persevered late in the first half, and caught a break in the final 18 seconds when McKenna played a ball and split two defenders, ripping a shot around the keeper to put the Huskies on the scoreboard, 2-1.

Both sides played aggressively to start the second half, with some physical challenges leading to cards. Stony Brook's Giordano was shown a yellow card for pulling down Aird on a counter attack, and
Daniel Korman was also given a yellow in the 68th minute.

The Northeastern defense stifled three Stony Brook attacks late in the second, and secured the ball with just over six minutes remaining in the half. McKenna raced up field and worked a give-and-go play with Pierrot, finishing along the right post to tie the match at 2-2 in the 85th minute. Stony Brook had a chance to win the game in regulation on a corner kick, but the shot went high, resulting in overtime.

With new life, the Huskies played well in the extra period, and blocked a Stony Brook shot after
Charlton Muhlauri was yellow carded. Northeastern was able to counter the free kick with a quick attack, and Pierrot and Muhlauri fed Goo a ball that he poked through in a scramble to win the game for the Huskies, 3-2.

Northeastern hosts Holy Cross on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. at Parsons Field, in the team's final non-conference match of the season.
