BOSTON -Â One week after running into top-ranked Boston College, the Northeastern women's hockey team returns home on Sunday, Jan. 18 to square off against another Beantown opponent in No. 6/6 Boston University. Sunday's matchup will be the third head-to-head meeting between the Huskies and Terriers this year, with the season series tied at 1-1. Northeastern looks to win its second straight game against BU, after downing the No. 6/6 Terriers, 6-3, on Nov. 11.
All-time against Boston UniversityNU leads the all-time series against Boston University, 34-24-5, snapping a three-game losing streak against the Terriers with a road victory at Walter Brown Arena in November. Northeastern squared off against Boston University in the program's inaugural game on Nov. 15, 1980, skating away with an 11-1 win. The Terriers have defeated the Huskies in two straight Hockey East tournaments, including a 3-2 victory against Northeastern in the 2014 conference semifinals.Â

McKenna Brand, Northeastern scored early and often en route to a 6-3 road win against No. 6/6 Boston Univeristy. Coyne notched her first hat trick of the season with three unassisted goals, while also finding Brand twice to keep the Huskies in front.
Hayley Scamurra opened the game's scoring in less than four minutes of game time, sending a shot past BU goaltender Victoria Hanson with just 3:59 on the clock. Desjardins netted her third win of the season courtesy of a 29-save night.
Scouting Boston UniversityWith a 13-5-2 (9-3-0 WHEA) overall record, Boston University enters Sunday's game sitting in second place in the Hockey East standings. Along with Boston College, the Terriers are one of just two teams in the league that average more than three goals per game (3.45). Northeastern ranks above BU this season in both power play and penalty kill percentage, but the Terriers have allowed fewer overall goals, 52 (2.60 per game), compared to the Huskies' total of 64 (3.05 per game). Kendall Coyne (27 points) as the conference's fourth-best scorer, while goaltender Victoria Hanson is second in Hockey East with a 2.36 GAA. BU has eight skaters that have registered 10 or more points this season, while the Huskies have five.
Against ranked competitionNortheastern is 2-6-0 this season against opponents ranked in the USCHO.com or USA Today polls. The Huskies shutout No. 8/10 Mercyhurst back on Oct. 17, and scored six goals in a winning effort against No. 6/6 Boston University on Nov. 11. NU has also faced No. 1/1 Boston College three times this season, and is one of only two teams in the country to have scored more than two goals against the Eagles (Harvard).

Denisa Krizova scored her sixth goal of the season, extending her points streak to three consecutive games. Krizova has now recorded at least one point in seven of her last eight games, and closed out last weekend's two-game series against the Eagles with one goal, two assists, and three points.Â

Heather Mottau as the only Huskies to have recorded points in multiple games this season against the Eagles. Silva accumulated one goal and one assist against Boston College on Saturday, Jan. 10, and extended her point streak to two games with another assist on Sunday.
Boston College takes two from NUWith the nation's best offense in hand, the No. 1/1 Boston College Eagles extended their undefeated streak to 21 straight games, earning two victories last weekend against the Huskies, 7-3 and 9-1.

Halle Silva, and
Denisa Krizova each had multi-point games against Boston College on Saturday, Jan. 10, but managed just three goals on 37 shots. On Sunday, Jan. 11, NU fired just 22 shots at Eagles goaltender Taylor Blake, as Boston College raced out to a 5-0 lead after one period of play.
History vs. No. 1Northeastern's setback against No. 1 Boston College on Jan. 11, 2015 dropped the Huskies' record to 1-16-1 all-time against the top-ranked team in the nation. The Huskies' lone victory over a No. 1 team came on Jan. 5, 2001 against No. 1 Dartmouth (4-0). NU has played the No. 1-ranked team three times in 2014-15, the most since the 2007-08 season, when the Huskies played four games against the top-ranked team in the country.

Kendall Coyne moved into a tie for fourth place on the Northeastern all-time goals list. Coyne is currently tied with Vicky Sunohara (1988-90) who had 78 goals in 45 career games. The junior from Palos Heights, Illinois, is also ranked ninth on Northeastern's all-time points list, and is three points away from tying Jill Toney (1982-86) for eighth place. Â
