ELON, N.C. -- Following what was one of their best performances of the season, the Northeastern Huskies will look to get the upper hand in the all-time series when they take on the Elon Phoenix in Elon, North Carolina, on Sunday, Jan. 25. The game will be aired on the American Sports Network.

Storylines• This is the first time that the Phoenix and Huskies will square off. The Phoenix joined the CAA in the offseason. Northeastern has already faced two teams this season they have never faced before.

Kelly Cole's team had one of its best performances in its last game against Towson. The team opened the game shooting 53 percent from the floor and three players ended their night in double-figures.

Francesca Sally recorded her third double-double of the season in the team's game against Towson on Thursday. She wrapped up her night with 13 rebounds and 12 points.

Maureen Taggart and
Loren Lassiter both made their first career start in NU's last game. Taggart contributed six points, connecting on two shots from downtown. Lassiter, on the other hand, provided some inside presence for the Huskies, finishing with a career-high eight rebounds.

Samantha DeFreese continued her solid stretch of play, adding 14 points to her impressive five games. She now has 96 points since the team's game against Hofstra on Jan. 6.

• This is Northeastern's last game of its three-game road trip. The Huskies will now return home to square off against the Pride of Hofstra on Thursday, Jan. 29, prior to welcoming William & Mary on Sunday, Feb. 1 for a 2 p.m. showdown.

All-time vs. Elon
The Huskies and Phoenix will square off for the first time ever on Sunday. The 2014-15 season marks the first year Elon is a member of the Colonial Athletic Association. This is the third team this year the Huskies will face with no recorded matchups in the history of the program. The first two were Florida Atlantic and North Dakota State.

Loren Lassiter and
Maureen Taggart both made their first start of the 2014-15 season in Thursday's game against the Towson Tigers. The two combined for nine points, 10 rebounds, and four assists. Taggart connected on two shots from downtown.

DeFreese continues to rollJunior forward
Samantha DeFreese continued her offensive onslaught on Thursday against the Towson Tigers. She wrapped up her night with 14 points and eight rebounds. During the last six games, she has accounted for 96 points.

Stewart does it againKazzidy Stewart scored a season-high 16 points on Thursday. It is the third time this season she has scored 16 points. She added five rebounds in the game.

Rebounds galoreThe Huskies corralled 45 rebounds in their game on Thursday, just five short of a season-high of 50.
Francesca Sally had the team-high in the game, accounting for 13 boards. All in all, eight members of the team collected at least one rebound.

Francesca Sally recorded her third double-double of the season against the Towson Tigers. She finished her night with 13 rebounds and 12 points. The Denver, Colorado, native had several key buckets down the stretch, as well as a few solid offensive boards.

Stacking up in the CAAThe Northeastern Huskies trending towards the top of the pack in the CAA in several statistical categories. Northeastern's offense is currently the sixth ranked offense in the league, posting a ppg average of 60.9. NU is also averaging 6.2 3-pointers made per contest, second best in the CAA, to go along with the second best free throw percentage at .717.

Individually in the CAASamantha DeFreese is ranked eighth in the conference in scoring, posting a mark of 13.0 points per contest. Her field goal percentage of .494 is also ranked second. In rebounding,
Francesca Sally's 7.7 per game are fifth best in the CAA, while DeFreese comes in ninth with 6.6 rpg.

Lassiter's career dayLoren Lassiter, in her first career start, grabbed a career-high eight rebounds. She added a tremendous presence inside and logged a career-high 26 minutes. The freshman also chipped in three points against the Tigers.

Assisting AmencieSenior guard and captain
Amencie Mercier boasted a game-high five assists in NU's last outing against CofC. The Pierrefonds, Quebec, native is averaging a team-high 3.7 assists per game this season.

Huskies have quick handsThe Huskies scored 13 points as a result of a Cougar's turnover in Sunday's matchup. Northeastern has utilized its tough defense and the player's quick hands this season, resulting in 6.2 steals per game.

Huskies all-time vs. the CAAThe Huskies, who joined the CAA in 2005, are looking to improve on their overall CAA record. NU's conference mark over the past 10 seasons is 59-121. The team has yet to claim a CAA championship, but has improved in postseason play during the previous few seasons.

Sally putting it togetherFrancesca Sally put together one of her finest nights on the court in the team's setback to Boston College. She registered seven points, tied a season high with 14 rebounds, and recorded three assists, and three blocks.

Kazzidy Stewart tied her season high of 16 points, but the Huskies suffered a tough setback to the Towson Tigers, 65-61, on Thursday, Jan. 22.

The double-double is Sally's third of the season. Her night wrapped up with 12 points and 13 rebounds, just one shy of her career high. Stewart, who was making her fifth start of the season, had a stellar performance of her own, scoring 16 points and chipping in five rebounds.

Northeastern trailed at halftime, but came out firing to start the second half. The team battled the Tigers each and every possession, but Towson was able to hold on at the end.

Samantha DeFreese finished with 14 points, going five-for-11 from the floor. She fell just short of a double-double with eight rebounds. All in all, seven Huskies finished with at least three points.
Loren Lassiter, in her first career start, registered a career-high eight rebounds. The freshman had several clutch boards down the stretch.

The team ended its night shooting 37 percent, making 19 of its 51 field goals. They outrebounded the Tigers by eight, 45-37, and dominated in both points in the point, 20-16, and bench points, 17-4.

The Huskies had a tremendous night moving the ball, finishing with 16 assists. Senior

The road aheadThe Huskies return home on Thursday, Jan. 29 to face the Hofstra Pride. Game time is set for 7 p.m. The last time NU and Hofstra met the game went into overtime and two Huskies –
