BOSTON -Â In the final game of an eight-game home stand, the Northeastern women's hockey team will take the ice against its fellow Beantown rival, No. 1/1 Boston College, in a weekend home-and-home series. The Huskies will first welcome the Eagles to Matthews Arena on Saturday, Jan. 10 at 2 p.m., before heading across town the following afternoon to Chestnut Hill for a 2 p.m. puck-drop at the Conte Forum.

All-time against Boston CollegeNortheastern squared off against Boston College for the 100th time in program history last February in the 2014 Beanpot championship game, but were held scoreless by the No. 7/7 Eagles, who prevailed 3-0. From 1980 to 2002, the Huskies rattled off a streak of 52 wins in 54 straight games against Boston College, but BC has found success against NU in recent years. Entering Saturday, the Eagles have won four out of their last five matchups opposite the Huskies. However, Northeastern still holds the lead in the all-time series, 65-30-6.

Scouting the EaglesBoston College owns the best scoring margin in the nation (+4.74), having scored 111 goals while allowing just 21 in 19 games this season. Ranked No. 1 in both the USCHO.com and USA Today polls, the Eagles are the only remaining undefeated team in the NCAA this year, having boasted an 18-0-1 (11-0-0) overall record. Eight BC skaters are slotted among the top 12 scorers in Hockey East, most notably junior forward Alex Carpenter, who leads the conference with 46 points (19 goals, 27 assists) in 17 games for the Eagles. Boston College goaltender Katie Burt (17-0-1, 1.04 GAA) is yet to allow more than two goals in a game so far this season, while the Eagles' offense averages a league-best 5.84 goals per game.

Last time out against Boston CollegeHeather Mottau's first goal of the season at 13:45 in the second period cut the BC lead to 2-1 earlier this season on Nov. 8, but the Eagles would go on to score four unanswered goals en route to a 6-1 win against the Huskies.

History vs. No. 1Northeastern's setback against No. 1 Boston College on Nov. 8, 2014 dropped the Huskies' record to 1-14-1 all-time against the top-ranked team in the nation. The Huskies' lone victory over a No. 1 team came on Jan. 5, 2001 against No. 1 Dartmouth (4-0). By the end of the weekend, NU will have played the No. 1-ranked team three times in 2014-15, the most since the 2007-08 season, when the Huskies played four games against the top-ranked team in the country.Â
Coyne scores twice against ConnecticutJunior forward
Kendall Coyne notched her ninth multi-point game of the season with a two-goal performance in a 3-3 tie against Connecticut on Jan. 3. Coyne's second goal of the game coming unassisted at 3:34 in the third period aired on ESPN's Sportscenter later that evening as the No. 9 top play of the day. The Palos Heights, Illinois, native has registered a team-high 14 goals in 2014-15, and has scored two or more goals in four of her last eight games.

Huskies and Huskies play to 3-3 tieDespite surrendering a goal just 40 seconds into the first period against Connecticut on Jan. 3, the Huskies rallied around team captain
Kendall Coyne as NU and UConn played to a 3-3 tie in overtime.
Lucie Povova tallied her first goal and fourth point of the season, bringing Northeastern level with the Huskies at 1-1 in the opening stanza.
Sarah Foss saved all 18 shots sent in her direction during the final 40 minutes of the game, as NU escaped with its fourth tie of the 2014-15 season.

Scamurra stays hotSophomore
Hayley Scamurra registered a point for the seventh time in eight games on Dec. 31 after tallying the Huskies' lone goal of the day in a 5-1 loss to Dartmouth. Scamurra (10 goals, five assists), who has scored four of Northeastern's last five goals, joins
Kendall Coyne (14 goals, 11 assists) as the only two NU players to have scored double-digit goals so far this year.

At home on the power-playNortheastern has sported a 3-3-1 record during the first seven games of an eight-game homestand ending Saturday against Boston College. Entering this weekend, NU has scored a total of 12 power-play goals in six of its last seven games at Matthews Arena.
