Hannah Lopiccolo scored in the eighth minute to help the Northeastern women's soccer team (10-4-1, 3-1-1 CAA) secure three big points in the CAA standings with a 1-0 win at James Madison on Friday night.
After a 90-minute lightning delay pushed the start time to 8:30 p.m., Northeastern wasted little time in taking the lead when Lopiccolo scored her third collegiate game-winner at the 7:42 mark.
Freshman keeper
Nathalie Nidetch (six saves) and the NU defense took over from there, holding JMU off the score sheet to hand the Dukes (9-5-0, 3-1-0) their first conference loss of the season.
