BOSTON – After a wild second period resulted in a 4-3 lead for Northeastern men's ice hockey (1-6-1, 0-2-1) through 40 minutes of play, No. 11/10 Boston University responded with a pair of goals in the final frame to take a 5-4 victory on Friday night at Agganis Arena.

Four different Huskies scored on the night, led by a career-high three points from sophomore Dylan Sikura (one goal, two assists). Adam Gaudette and Garret Cockerill both logged a goal and an assist, while Ryan Ruck made 24 saves in goal.

NU outshot the Terriers 40-29 on the night as BU received 36 stops from Connor LaCouvee and a goal and two assists, including the eventual game-winner, from Ahti Oksanen. NU was 1-of-7 on the man advantage and held BU to an 0-of-3 showing.

Goal descriptions
• The Terriers took a 1-0 lead near the midway mark of the opening period when Matt Grzelcyk netted his first goal of the year. After taking a pass from Ryan Cloonan, Charlie McAvoy tossed the puck up to Grzelcyk at the left point, who then ripped a shot on net that beat Ruck glove side.

• BU extended its lead to 2-0 six minutes into the second period after killing off a Grzelcyk roughing minor. With the Terriers circling in the NU zone, a Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson rebound squirted out to Brandon Fortunato at the left of the cage, and he fired a shot off the right post and past Ruck for his third of the season.

• Northeastern brought the deficit back to one with 12:19 remaining in the middle frame on Adam Gaudette's second goal in as many games. Dylan Sikura began the play by feeding the puck up to Matt Benning at the point. Benning then fired a shot through traffic that caught the stick of Gaudette and snuck past LaCouvee for the score.

• The Huskies leveled the score at two with 6:10 left in the second on Garret Cockerill's first of the season with the Huskies on the power play, taking a pass from Dalen Hedges and firing a shot that got through LaCouvee.

• The Terriers jumped back out in front just 34 seconds after the Cockerill tally as Cloonan went in on a breakaway, tucking a backhand inside the right post for his fourth goal of the year.

• The lead would be shortlived, however, as the Huskies struck back with a goal from Dylan Sikura a mere 12 seconds following the Cloonan goal. After NU won the face-off in the neutral zone, Sikura threw a drop pass from Nolan Stevens on goal that knocked off the stick of a Terrier defender and over the goal line for Sikura's first of the year.

• Northeastern took its first lead of the night with 4:55 to go in the second period when Eric Williams let a rocket go from inside the right point that beat LaCouvee glove side for Williams' second of the season.

• Boston University made it a 4-4 game less than four minutes into the third period when the Terriers capitalized on a turnover, resulting in an odd-man rush the other way and a goal from Brandon Hickey, taking a pass from Ahti Oksanen on the doorstep to best Ruck for his fourth of the year.

• Oksanen put the Terriers back on top with 13:32 to play in regulation when he completed some tic-tac-toe passing between him, Grzelcyk and Danny O'Regan before sending a shot from the right dot past a sprawling Ruck.
