HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – With six games remaining in the regular season, the Northeastern men's basketball team (16-9, 8-4 CAA) will look to improve its position in the CAA standings with a big road contest at Hofstra (16-9, 7-5) on Thursday at the Mack Sports Complex. The game will be shown live on NBCSN and the NBC Sports Live Extra app with Mike Corey and Ronnie Thompson on the call.

STORY LINES
• Two teams with identical 16-9 records, Northeastern and Hofstra will meet for the 37th time on Wednesday with the Huskies leading the all-time series by a 19-17 count. NU has won seven straight meetings, including a 91-83 decision at Matthews Arena on Jan. 14. In that game, sophomore T.J. Williams posted his first-career double-double with 16 points, 11 rebounds and six assists to lead NU to its highest-scoring output of the season.

• Northeastern shot 63.8 percent (30-for-47) against Hofstra on Jan. 14, which represents the team's highest single-game shooting clip since the Huskies went 30-for-46 (65.2 percent) from the field against Maine on Feb. 24, 1996.

• Northeastern blocked a season-high nine shots on Jan. 14 vs. Hofstra, led by redshirt junior Quincy Ford who tied a single-game career best with four swats. The last time NU blocked nine shots in a game was also against Hofstra on March 6, 2010, a 74-71 Huskies win in overtime. On that day, Nkem Ojougboh paced the Red & Black with four blocks.

• The Huskies are coming off a 73-68 setback against Delaware on Saturday at Matthews Arena. After trailing by four at halftime, Northeastern opened the second stanza on a 10-0 run to claim a 35-29 lead. However, the Blue Hens answered with a 16-3 run of their own and never looked back to snap NU's five-game home CAA winning streak.

• Senior Reggie Spencer scored a season-high 14 points against Delaware on 6-of-8 shooting Saturday. Spencer scored 13 of his 14 points in the first half and now needs 72 points to become the 34th player in program history to hit the 1,000-point plateau.

• Sophomore T.J. Williams scored 18 points to lead Northeastern in scoring on Saturday vs. Delaware. Williams has scored at least 14 points in five of his last six games and is averaging 15.0 points per game over that span.

• Northeastern scored 68 points on Saturday vs. Delaware to fall to 8-9 on the year when scoring 69 points or fewer. Conversely, NU is 8-0 this season when scoring 70 points or more.

• The Huskies lead all CAA teams in rebounding defense with 29.5 boards allowed per game. Northeastern's +4.7 rebounding margin ranks second in the CAA and 43rd in the nation. NU has out-rebounded its opponent in 17 of 25 games this season (14-3 in those games).

• Northeastern is 9-0 this season when shooting 50 percent or better in a game. The Huskies have made at least half of their field goals in six of 12 CAA games and are shooting 50.3 percent as a team in conference play. On the season, NU is shooting 47.3 percent, which ranks 31st in the nation.
