BOSTON --Â The Northeastern Huskies will play host to the Elon Phoenix on Thursday, Feb. 19 as they begin to wrap up the regular season and prepare for postseason action. The Huskies enter the game after a solid performance against the UNCW Seahawks. The Phoenix arrive on Huntington Avenue after a close loss to Hofstra on Sunday, Feb. 15. These two teams met previously with Elon earning an 80-77 overtime victory in Elon.

Storylines• The Huskies had five players score at least 10 points in their last game. It marks the first time this season the team had that many players in double-figures, and is a sign of progression for the Huskies on offense.

Amencie Mercier recorded a career-high 20 points against the UNCW Seahawks last Sunday. She played her best game of the season, connecting on seven-of-12, including three-of-four from downtown. She also added five assists to her stat line.

Maureen Taggart continues to light it up from downtown as she earned yet another start. Against UNCW, she went four-for-five from beyond the arc, proving to be NU's most lethal deep threat. She finished with 13 points against the Seahawks.

• The last time these two teams met the game went into overtime as the Huskies battled back from down 18 late in the second half to force the extra period.Â
Samantha DeFreese accounted for 14 points in 13 minutes to help lead the comeback.

• Northeastern is now home for two of its last four games. The Huskies will welcome the Charleston Cougars to Cabot Center on Sunday, Feb. 22. The next week, the team embarks on a three-day road trip to face off against the James Madison Dukes and the Tribe of William & Mary. Their final home game comes on March 4, when the Drexel Dragons arrive in Boston.

Last time vs. the Phoenix
In what was their second consecutive strong performance, the Northeastern Huskies dropped a tough game in overtime to the Elon Phoenix, 80-77, on Sunday, Jan. 25.

Kelly Cole and her team showcased their mental toughness and grittiness by battling back from down 18 points in the second half to force an overtime period.

In the overtime period, Elon (12-7, 5-3) held a four-point lead, 77-73, with 98 seconds to go.
Francesca Sally converted on a layup to bring Northeastern within two. On the other end of the court, Elon's Zora Stephenson went one-for-two after an intentional foul, giving the Huskies the ball back down by three. Stewart hit a layup with three seconds left to bring it within one, but two free throws by the Phoenix secured the overtime victory.Â
 The game was tied nine times, and featured five lead changes. Northeastern (4-14, 1-7) had three players finish in double figures in DeFreese with 26, Stewart with 19 and
Amencie Mercier with 13. Stewart's 19 points are a new season-high.Â
Maureen Taggart, in her second start of the season, added nine points of her own, while
Francesca Sally chipped in eight points in the setback.

All-time vs. ElonNortheastern and Elon have only one recorded meting all-time, which came earlier this season. The Phoenix earned an 80-77 overtime win against the Huskies in North Carolina. Elon is new to the CAA, in just its first season as a member of the conference. This will be the first time Elon and Northeastern square off in Boston.
