HANOVER, N.H. – Northeastern field hockey kept its winning ways going with another 2-1 victory, this one over the Big Green of Dartmouth Friday afternoon.
 
The Huskies (2-3) once again jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the half, tallying an insurance goal in the middle of the second half en route to the victory over Dartmouth (1-2).
 
The win marked the ninth straight over the Big Green for Northeastern.
 
Natalie Stewart finished the day with three points for NU, aiding on the first goal and tallying the ultimate game winner for the Huskies. 
Becky Garner finished the day with four saves in the net.
 
The Huskies got on the board late into the first half when sophomore 
Kellie Stigas notched her first career goal at 30:36. Stigas was in the right place at the right time when she took the feed in from the left from Stewart and skipped it past the Dartmouth goalie Paige Duffy from point blank range.
 
A Northeastern goal was waived off in the middle of the second half, but Stewart helped add to the lead a few minutes later netting a goal of her own. Stewart took a shot, collected the rebound, dribbled around defenders and lifted a shot past the right shoulder of Duffy and into the back of the net. The goal was the second of the season for the junior.
 
Dartmouth would get one back with just a few minutes remaining in the game as Julia Donald got a shot past Garner as time wound down, but the Huskies held on for the win.
 
The Huskies finish their road trip out in Durham, N.H. against the University of New Hampshire Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
