BOSTON – In its final tune-up game before opening its conference schedule this weekend, the Northeastern men's soccer team will look to return to winning form on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 6 p.m. as the Huskies host New Hampshire at Parsons Field. NU posted a 3-1-0 record against America East teams a year ago, including a 1-0 victory against the Wildcats on Aug. 29, 2014.

LAST TIME OUT

Sophomore co-captain Jonathan Thuresson was kept on his toes by a talented attacking side in Providence as Northeastern suffered a 2-1 defeat to its New England rival on Sept. 19. Thuresson (0-2-1) made a season high, five saves, despite allowing two goals as the Friars outshot the Huskies, 14-5. Sophomore forward Khesanio Hall opened his Northeastern scoring account in the 90th minute, directing a cross from Marc Greenblatt through the left post with 10 seconds to play in the half (89:50).

LAST TIME AGAINST NEW HAMPSHIRE

Although Northeastern trails, 7-17-1, in the all-time series against New Hampshire, the Huskies currently hold the last laugh, having topped the Wildcats, 1-0, during opening night of the 2014 season (Aug. 29). Then-freshman Frantzdy Pierrot scored the game's lone goal in the 39th minute, heading a corner kick by Daniel Arvidsson into the left corner of the net.

OLD CONFERENCE FOES REUNITE

Northeastern and New Hampshire met 18 times during the Huskies' tenure in the America East conference, with the Wildcats sporting an 11-6-1 advantage. During Northeastern's run to the America East championship in 2002, the Huskies knocked off UNH, 3-1, in the semifinals courtesy of goals by Nate Houghton (3', 62') and Atha Kirkopoulos (60').

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER

Khesanio Hall's 90th-minute goal against Providence on Sept. 19 was the first goal Northeastern had scored in the final five minutes of regulation since Sept. 13, 2014, when Brad Fountain netted an 89th-minute goal against UMass Lowell. Here are the last five goals Northeastern has scored during the final five minutes of regulation:

WHO NEEDS MORE TIME?

NU is undefeated in its last 19 overtime, regular-season matches (9-0-10), dating back to Nov. 5, 2011, when the Huskies were edged out on the road by William & Mary, 3-2, in the 99th minute. Including the postseason, Northeastern has secured at least a draw (prior to penalty kicks) in 21 of its last 23 matches.

NU, FAIRFIELD DRAW 0-0 AT PARSONS

Defense reigned supreme during Northeastern's Sept. 12 game against Fairfield as the Huskies and Stags were both held to single-digit shot attempts in a scoreless, double-overtime draw. NU forwards Khori Bennett (four shots),Khesanio Hall (three), and Harry Swartz (two) combined for all nine of the Huskies' shot attempts, with Hall providing the only two shots on goal of the match for Northeastern. In his second start of the season, sophomore co-captainJonathan Thuresson made three saves en route to earning his fourth career shutout.

HUSKIES CONTEND WITH CAL

Although forwards Frantzdy Pierrot and Khori Bennett combined for nine of Northeastern's 15 shots against California on Sept. 6, two first-half goals and another in the 82nd minute helped the Golden Bears coast to a 3-0 victory. Despite trailing the Golden Bears, 8-2, in shots following California's second goal in the 28th minute, the Huskies went on to outshoot California, 13-2, during the final 63 minutes of play. Sixteen different players appeared in the game for Northeastern, the most so far during the 2015 season.

NU CLASHES WITH NO. 16 STANFORD

Facing its first ranked, non-conference opponent since the 2012 NCAA tournament (No. 7 Connecticut), Northeastern battled hard against No. 16 Stanford on Sept. 4, ultimately coming up short, 1-0, on a 38th-minute goal by Slater Meehan. In his NU debut, sophomore transfer Khesanio Hall led the Huskies with four shot attempts, but was unable to place one on goal. Ackim Mpofu and Frantzdy Pierrot provided each of Northeastern's two shots on goal against the Cardinal as Stanford outshot NU, 16-9.
