Jacob Aduama had a unique opportunity to not only travel to and train in his father's native country, Ghana, but to also catch a glimpse of soccer in the nation's capital.
Â
As a student-athlete who was admired on Huntington Avenue for his work ethic and dedication to the program, it was only fitting for Aduama to suit up for a team with a humbling mission and special goal.
Â
Aduama joined in alongside youth from Accra, Ghana, to play in a match for the DIL Sports Academy. The academy was created to help struggling youth in and around the country's capital by taking them off the streets, placing them into a structured environment and introducing them to the game of soccer.
Â
DIL Sports Academy was founded by Richard Nortey and with the help of a dedicated coaching staff, members of the academy have already been placed in acting soccer leagues in the country.
Â
Aduama's father, Christian, documented a match that took place on a field near the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission in Kwabenya. To read more about Aduama's game experience, please visit the New England Soccer Today article entitled
