HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – In just the second Sunday game of the season, the Northeastern men's basketball team will take on Hofstra at 2 p.m. Sunday at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex in a game to be broadcast live on NBC Sports.
 
The Huskies and Hofstra will round out their regular season series Sunday afternoon, as Northeastern looks to avenge a tight, triple overtime loss suffered earlier this season
                                                                                                                                                                       
Northeastern enters the game with a 15-13 record, 7-8 in CAA play and have won its last three games, including yet another triple overtime endeavor, this time against James Madison on Thursday.
 
Hofstra is 19-8 overall record, and are 11-4 in conference action. The Pride are also on a three-game win streak, including a last second victory over Towson on Thursday.
 
QUICK HITS
• This is the 96th season of Northeastern men's basketball. NU has an all-time record of 1,170-1,082 (.520) in 2,251 games.
• This will be the 39th meeting between the two teams in program history
• Northeastern leads the series between the two teams 20-18
• The Huskies are 8-9 all-time at Hofstra
• Northeastern went 2-0 last week with wins at Towson and vs. Drexel

• Coen currently has 99 career CAA regular season victories during his 10-year tenure at Northeastern
• Coen tallied his 150th career win (all at Northeastern) with a 78-77 upset over No. 15/19 Miami on Nov. 27.
• The Huskies are 369-251 (.595) all-time in conference play including a 111-81 (.578) record since joining the CAA in the 2005-06 season.
• The Huskies have amassed 12 regular season conference championships and eight tournament titles including last season's title which sent the Huskies to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 24 years.

LAST TIME VS. HOFSTRA
• Last time out the game took 3 overtimes to decide
• The triple OT game was just the second in Northeastern history (1982 NCAA Tournament vs. Villanova)
• Five different Huskies scored in double digits, while two Huskies tallied double-doubles in the game
• Zach Stahl notched his second double-double of the season (fourth career) via 19 points and 11 boards
• David Walker also tallied his second career double-double, however this was of the points/assists variety via 18 points and 13 assists.
• Walker marked just the third CAA player to tally a 10+ assist game this season and was the first Husky to do so since Jon Lee had 11 against Bradley on 12/6/11
• The 13 assists were two shy of the school record (6th most in school history) and were the most since Jamaar Walker had 13 vs. Vermont on Feb. 15, 2003
• Walker played all 55 minutes of the game, the most time any Husky men's basketball player has every played in a game in school history.
• Northeastern also connected on a school record 17 3-pointers in the game, the second school record the Huskies have broken this season.
 
THIS WEEK IN HUSKY BASKETBALL
• The Huskies began the week off, once again in historic fashion, when they played in their second triple OT game of the season, this time at James Madison
• Unlike their last 3OT game, this time the Huskies came off the court the winner after 55 minutes, 95-94
• Quincy Ford tallied a career-high 36 points in the victory, the highest point total of any Husky against a CAA opponent
• The 36 points were the most since J.J. Barea tallied a school record-tying 41 points against Stony Brook on March 5, 2005
• Also in the game, David Walker recorded 19 points, moving into ninth place on the Northeastern career scoring chart (1,554) passing Chaisson Allen (1,550 - 2007-11)
• Jeremy Miller finished with 18 points on the night, and Donnell Gresham recorded a career-best 10 rebounds
• Miller forced OT hitting a three from the corner near the end of regulation, and forced a second OT with a layup off a feed from Gresham with 7 seconds left.
• Quincy Ford was fouled shooting a three at the beginning of triple OT, and sank all three field goals giving the Huskies a lead that JMU could never overcome
 
HUSKIES FROM DEEP
• The Huskies have made 247 field goals from behind the arc in 2015-16. The 247 made 3s ranks second in the CAA and 23rd nationally
• The Huskies 3-point shooting percentage, .373, is second in the CAA, and ranks 56th nationally
• Northeastern has hit for at least 10 treys in 15 of its 28 games this season
• Ten different Huskies have hit a three this season led by David Walker's 83 and Quincy Ford's 58
• Walker's 83 3FGs ranks first in the CAA and 14th nationally, Ford's 54 rank seventh in the CAA and 176th nationally
 
DOUBLE-DIGITS BEHIND THE ARC
• Northeastern has recorded double-digit 3-point field goal games 15 times this season through 28 games of action
• The 15 games rank in the top-10 in the country in that category, in eighth place
• North Florida, who leads the country with 348 3FG, also leads with 25 games this season in double-digit field goals.
• Northeastern combined for a school record 17 treys against Delaware
• The 17 threes rank as the 18th most in a single game this season
 
WALKER FROM DEEP
• David Walker has a school-record tying 83 threes through 28 games this season for the Huskies.
• The senior leads the team, the CAA and ranks 14th nationally in made 3FG in 2015-16
• His 83 threes bests his total last season and ranks in a tie for first all-time on the Northeastern 3FG Made Single Season chart
• His 83 threes are also the most through 28 games in school history
• Walker has notched at least one 3-pointer in each of the first 27 games of the, and in 31-straight games dating back to last season, a streak that ended at JMU (Feb. 18).
• Walker has tallied 5+ 3-pointers in seven games this season, the most in school history

• Quincy Ford has improved from 23rd, where he began the season on the Northeastern all-time scoring chart, to 11th place with 1,545 career points.
• Ford has tallied 405 points this season, and with his 16-point day vs. Drexel, he crossed the 1,500-point mark.
• Walker began the year in 29th, and with his 514 points this year, has moved into the Top-10 with 1,554 points.
• Walker jumped into ninth place after a 19-point night at James Madison (Feb. 18) passing Chaisson Allen (1,550)

THE LONGEVITY FACTOR
• On Sunday afternoon against Hofstra, David Walker will play in his 129th game as a Husky, setting a new Northeastern record for career games played
• Walker becomes the fourth overall Husky to play in at least 128 games and the first to do so since Matt Janning did in the 2009-10 season
• Walker has started the last 120 games of his career dating back to the 2012-13 season

• David Walker connected from behind the arc in the first 27 games this season and in 31-straight games dating back to last season, a streak that ranked sixth in the country, before it was snapped at JMU (Feb. 18)

HITTING MARKS
• Last week, both David Walker and Quincy Ford crossed the 1,500 career point mark
• Walker hit the mark first with an 18-point effort at Towson, using his first trey of the day to tally his 1,499, 1,500 and 1,501 career points.
• On Saturday vs. Drexel, Ford also crossed the plateau on a three in the first half of play. Ford finished the day with 16 points.
• The next player looking to hit a career mark is Zach Stahl who is closing in on 1,000 career points.
• Stahl currently has 979 career points, which ranks 38th all-time on the Northeastern scoring chart
• Stahl would become the 36th Husky to hit the 1,000 career point mark
 
EXTRA TIME
• Northeastern has played five overtime games in 2015-16, including two triple OT thrillers vs. Hofstra (Jan. 21) and James Madison (Feb. 18)
• The five overtime games this season are the second most in school history. The Huskies played in five overtime games during the 2012-13 and a school record six OT games in the 1980-81 campaign
• The nine overtime periods played this season are the most in school history
• Northeastern earned a victory in the first OT game of the year, an 87-84 season-opening win over Boston University
• The Huskies fell 87-86 in overtime to Western Michigan Monday Dec. 2.
• For the second time in school history, Northeastern went to three overtimes (1982 NCAA Tournament vs. Villanova) this time with Hofstra (Jan. 21)
• The Huskies fell in a 96-92 battle with the Pride as two different Huskies notched a double-double in the loss
• Just a week after the triple OT game, the Huskies went to overtime against Charleston (Jan. 28) falling 68-61 to the Cougars on the road

• Northeastern senior David Walker ranks 1st in the CAA for his free throw shooting percentage in 2015-16
• Walker is 123-141 on the season from the free-throw line, with an 87.2 FT percentage which tops the conference and ranks 22nd in the country.
• His 123 free throws made rank third in the conference and 68th in the country
• The Huskies, as a team, have taken 602 free throws, fifth in the conference and have capitalized on 435 of them (fourth in the CAA) for a free throw percentage of 72.3%, first in the conference and 83rd nationally
