The Huskies set the single-season program record for wins in a year with a 6-2 victory over Providence on Feb. 27, surpassing the previous record of 27 wins set by both the 1996-97 and 2001-02 squads. In addition, NU has secured its largest season-to-season improvement in program history with 14 more wins in 2015-16 than in 2014-15 (14-17-5). The previous program record for the largest season-to-season turnaround (+13) was also held by the 1996-97 team, which went 27-9-0 following a 14-15-5 campaign in 1995-96. NU's 14-win improvement this season ranks second in the NCAA to Colgate, which has won 15 more games than a season ago.Â
HUSKIESÂ HISTORYÂ INÂ THEÂ WHEAÂ TOURNAMENTNortheastern is 9-9 all-time in WHEA postseason play, including a 1-4 mark against Boston University. Boston University avenged the defeat with a 5-2 triumph over Northeastern in the 2013 WHEA title game, before eliminating the Huskies in the semifinals in both 2014 and 2015.
KENDALLÂ COYNE NAMED AÂ PATTYÂ KAZÂ TOP-3Â FINALISTSenior
Kendall Coyne was named a top-three finalist for the prestigious Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, as announced Thursday by USA Hockey. Coyne joins Boston College forward Alex Carpenter and Wisconsin goaltender Ann-Renee Desbiens as the finalists for the award, given annually to the top player in Division I women's ice hockey. Coyne is the fourth player in program history to be named a top-three finalist, joining Florence Schelling (2012), Chanda Gunn (2004) and Brooke Whitney (2002). Whitney is the lone player in program history to win the Patty Kazmaier Award after posting 56 points and helping the 2001-02 Huskies to a 27-7-1 record and an appearance in the ECAC Eastern Final. The 2016 Patty Kazmaier Award winner will be unveiled on March 19 as part of the Frozen Four festivities in New Castle, New Hampshire.

BRITTANY, THE BRICK WALLFreshman
Brittany Bugalski has assembled one of the most impressive rookie seasons for a goaltender in program history. With a 20-6-1 record, Bugalski is the first freshman netminder in program history to win 20 games in a year, and is the seventh goaltender overall in the NU record books to win at least 20 games in a season. In addition, Bugalski is only the sixth freshman shot-stopper in WHEA history to win 20 or more games in a season, joining BC's Molly Schaus (2006-07), BC's Katie Burt (2014-15), BU's Kerrin Sperry (2010-11), UNH's Kayley Herman (2007-08) and Providence's Jana Bugden (2002-03).
COYNEÂ CLOSINGÂ INÂ ONÂ ANOTHERÂ RECORDHaving already broken the Northeastern program records for most points in a season (82), most goals in a career (140) and most points in a career (247), senior

With three more goals, Coyne will surpass Vicky Sunohara's single-season program record for goals (51) set during the 1988-89 season. Sunohara's record is especially impressive considering that the former Olympic gold medalist potted 51 goals and 78 points in only 25 games in helping the 1988-89 Huskies to a 22-3-0 record and an ECAC championship.

This season's team is averaging 4.42 goals per game (good for the third best mark in the nation), compared to the 4.68 goals-per-game clip posted by the 97-98 squad.Â
