ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Northeastern women's swimming and diving sophomores Alyssa Seales and Jacquelyn Gover were two of 10 Colonial Athletic Association women divers at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships, hosted at the U.S. Naval Academy's Lejeune Hall in Annapolis, Maryland, March 7-8.
 
This was the first time the Huskies appeared at the meet in back-to-back years since the 2009-10 season, driven by efforts from diving coach Lauren Colby, who is in just her second year with the Red and Black.
 
In her first Zone Diving Championship, Seales finished third among Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) divers (44th place overall) in the 1-meter dive on Monday with 202.20 points. On Tuesday, the Framingham, Mass. native locked in sixth against CAA contenders in the 3-meter with 203.10 (46th place overall).
 
Gover finished right behind Seales in the 3-meter with 202.10 (47th place overall). In the 1-meter dive on Monday, she tabbed a top-10 score among fellow CAA divers (59th place overall) with 162.90 points.
 
Seales was this year's top performer on the diving block. She scored a personal record of 276.08 (1-meter) in November against MIT, which qualified her for the Zone meet, and another personal best of 274.14 (3-meter) vs. Harvard in October. Overall, the Framingham, Massachusetts native earned three top-three, eight top-five and 11 top-10 scores throughout the season.
 
Gover earned 10 top-three, 13 top-five and 14 top-10 scores, highlighted by four victories this season. The North Easton, Massachusetts native qualified for the Zone meet after 247.35 points vs. MIT in November. Her personal bests include 286.35 in the 1-meter and 275.15 in the 3-meter, both of which she set as a first-year.
