Erin Murphy represented the Northeastern Huskies at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships, competing in the 1-meter and 3-meter events on Monday and Tuesday in the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center at Rutgers University.
Murphy kicked off the championships with the 3-meter prelims on Monday. In a field of 73 divers, she finished 31st with a score of 262.70, the highest score she accumulated in her four attempts in the competition. She was also the highest-placing diver from the CAA for the second straight year.
In the 1-meter prelims this afternoon, Murphy scored a 249.95 to finish in 22nd out 81 competing divers, and was the highest-finishing diver from the CAA.
Murphy finishes her season and Northeastern career as one of the most decorated divers in program history. In her four years as a Husky, she is a ten-time CAA Diver of the Week, a CAA Rookie Diver of the Year, holds the program record in the 1-meter dive, is a two-time CAA Diver of the Meet, a two-time CAA Diver of the Year, and an eight-time medalist at the CAA Championships. She is the only diver at Northeastern to win gold in both diving events at the CAA Championships, and caps off her career as the back-to-back champion in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.
