BROOKLINE, Mass. – Despite outshooting Rhode Island (0-0-2) by a 28-14 margin, the Northeastern women's soccer team (0-1-1) was unable to find the back of the net in a 0-0 draw on Sunday evening at Parsons Field.
Sophomore goaltender
Nathalie Nidetch turned in another strong performance with seven saves en route to her second career clean-sheet.
Offensively, the Huskies enjoyed the lion's share of possession and produced several quality scoring chances, but could not find a breakthrough. In the 79th minute, redshirt freshman
Lizzie George came close to giving NU the lead when she flicked a shot over URI keeper Katie Nickels, but the ball was cleared off the line by the Rams' defense and out of danger.
Deep into the second overtime period, Northeastern again knocked on the door when junior
Kayla Cappuzzo floated a cross to senior
Breeana Koemans for a bicycle-kick that was turned aside by Nickels.
Noteworthy
• Northeastern held a 28-14 advantage in shot attempts, including a 20-9 margin after the first half.
• Junior
Hannah Lopiccolo led NU with five shot attempts, while Cappuzzo, George and Koemans each produced four attempts at goal.
• Eleven different Huskies attempted at least one shot in the game.

Kerri Zerfoss) started for the Huskies.
• NU played to its first scoreless draw since a goalless affair at Elon on Sept. 25, 2015.
• In two games, Nidetch has stopped 17 of 18 shots, good for a .944 save percentage.
