CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Fresh off an unbeaten weekend at D1 in DC, the Northeastern women's hockey team (9-7-2, 5-4-1 WHEA) will play its sixth game against a top-10 opponent this season when it travels across town to face No. 2 Boston College (11-1-2, 5-0-2 WHEA) on Tuesday evening.
• The Huskies are 1-3-1 against ranked opponents, including a 3-2 victory over No. 1 Wisconsin on Nov. 24. According to USCHO.com, NU has played the fifth-toughest schedule in the country (and the toughest among WHEA teams) this year. When the puck drops Tuesday night, the Huskies will have faced each of the top four teams in the current USCHO poll: Wisconsin, Boston College, Colgate and Clarkson.
• This will be the first meeting between NU and BC since the teams contested a dramatic Hockey East championship game at BU's Walter Brown Arena in March.
Kasidy Anderson gave Northeastern a 1-0 lead in the first period, before Kali Flanagan evened the score in the middle frame. BC's Andie Anastos then won the title in overtime to give the Eagles a 2-1 victory.
• The last three meetings between NU and BC have each ended in 2-1 scorelines, including a Northeastern win on Feb. 10, 2017. On that day,
Brittany Bugalski made a career-high 46 saves to help the Huskies snap the Eagles' NCAA-record, 63-game home unbeaten streak.
