Promotions Paws For Puerto Rico Night
• 
On December 5 against Bucknell the Northeastern community will come together to raise money for Puerto Rican hurricane relief
• Northeastern Athletics, as well as the Latinx Student Cultural Center, will partner up with former men's basketball standout Jose Juan Barea for this fundraising effort
At the game, there are many ways to participate in the fundraiser:
  • Each person who donates to the cause will receive a 'Los Huskies' t shirt
  • Just by buying a ticket you have helped, as ticket sales from the night will be donated to the hurricane relief fund
  • There will be a silent auction, with all of the proceeds going to the J.J. Barea Foundation's hurricane relief efforts
Combo Tuesday
• 
At the concession stand, fans may purchase chicken fingers, French fries, and any bottled drink as a combo for only $5.

BOSTON – The Northeastern men's basketball team continues its four-game homestand on Tuesday night against Bucknell at 7 p.m. on Paws For Puerto Rico night at Matthews Arena.
 
The Huskies started the homestand off with a 77-61 victory over Harvard & followed with an 84-66 blowout of Cornell Saturday afternoon. After the game with Bucknell Northeastern will conclude its home non-conference schedule with Vermont on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 4 p.m. on Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night.
 
NOTABLES
• This is the 98th season of Northeastern men's basketball
• Northeastern has an all-time record of 1,188-1,095 (.520) in 2,283 games
• The Huskies are 376-253 (.598) all-time in conference play including a 118-83 (.587) record since joining the CAA in the 2005-06 season
• Northeastern amassed 12 regular season conference championships and eight tournament titles including a 2015 CAA title which sent NU to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 24 years
• Bill Coen is in his 12th season as the leader of the Huskies and since Coen has taken the reins, Northeastern has accomplished the best win percentage amongst current CAA teams in conference and CAA tournament play with a 119-96 all-time mark
• Northeastern and Bucknell will meet for just the first time in program history, the second team Northeastern will see for the first time this year (Stanford)
• Northeastern has already tallied two 80-point efforts, both coming at home, this season and is outscoring their opponents by 22.7 points per game in Matthews Arena in 2017-18
• Under Coen, the Huskies are 83-21 when holding their opponents to under-60 points, a feat they have achieved twice this season
 
HUSKIES VS. BISON
• Northeastern and Bucknell will meet for the first time in program history on Tuesday night
• Bucknell marks the second team this season that Northeastern will face for the first time (Stanford)
 
SCOUTING THE BISON
• Bucknell is off to a 4-5 start to the season, playing the first four games on the road against some tough opponents at Monmouth (78-79), Arkansas (73-101), North Carolina (81-93), and Maryland (78-80)
• All three of Bucknell's victories have come at home this season including an 81-77 win over Vermont the last time out
• The Bison's lone road win came at Stony Brook on Nov. 26, an 85-76 win over the Seawolves
 
LEADING THE WAY
• Bucknell is led by senior Zach Thomas who is leading the team averaging a near double-double with 24.1 ppg and 9.9 rpg
• Two other Bison are tallying double-figure scoring as Nana Foulland has averaged 15.7 ppg and Stephen Brown has put in 13.2 ppg through the first nine games
• Brown leads the way with 49 assists on the year while Foulland has 13 blocks on the year
 
PAWS FOR PUERTO RICO
• On Tuesday against Bucknell, the Northeastern community will come together to raise money for Puerto Rican hurricane relief
• Northeastern Athletics, as well as the Latinx Student Cultural Center, will partner up with former men's basketball standout Jose Juan Barea to raise money for hurricane relief
• Barea, who has already taken Dallas Mavericks' Owner Marc Cuban's plane down to Puerto Rico with supplies within the week of the hurricane, set out with the goal to raise $150,000. He has already raised over $500,000
• Barea, in his 12th professional season, is the only current Puerto Rican national in the NBA
• The Northeastern standout finished his career in 2005-06 as the CAA Player of the Year, ending his career second on the Northeastern all-time list with 2,290 points to go along with 721 career assists (2nd all-time)
 
LAST TIME OUT
• Northeastern came away with back-to-back victories last weekend beginning the weekend off with a 77-61 victory over Harvard on Thursday and finishing with an 84-66 win over Cornell on Saturday afternoon
• Against Harvard, the Huskies were led by 22 points from Vasa Pusica, his second career 20-point game and second of the season
• Northeastern got out to as much as a 21-point lead in the first half before finishing with the 16-point victory
• The Huskies forced five turnovers in the first four minutes of action, capped by a strip by Shawn Occeus heading into the first media. Following that stop, Northeastern connected on three-straight treys to jump out to an 18-9 lead
• Harvard fought back and cut it to a seven-point game at the half and got as close as six in the second half before Devon Begley laid in back-to-back baskets to regain a double-digit lead as the Huskies cruised to the victory
• The wire-to-wire win was the second of the season for the Huskies
• Against Cornell on Saturday, Northeastern kept the Matthews Magic going as the Huskies were led by Donnell Gresham's 22 points, nine rebounds and four steals
• Pusica finished with his second 20-point effort of the weekend with 20 points and six assists
• After a close first half that saw Cornell lead for much of the time until the Huskies went on a 10-0 run before the half to take a 39-36 lead
• In the second half, Northeastern went on a 25-4 run led by Gresham and Bolden Brace to break the game wide open and run away with the 84-66 victory
 
MATTHEWS MAGIC
• In the first three home games of the season, the Huskies are outscoring their opponents 244-176 or by 22.7 points per game
• The Huskies are now 3-0 on the year at the old barn, Matthews Arena
• The Huskies opened their home season with their second game of the year against Wentworth
• During that game Northeastern held Wentworth to just 49-points marking the first game the Huskies held an opponent to under-50 points since a 47-44 victory at Towson on Feb. 11, 2016
• The 34-point win also tied the second-largest of the Bill Coen era (79-45 win over Drexel on Jan. 9, 2008) and was the largest since a 36-point victory over Delaware last season
• The Huskies have now recorded a 30-point victory in the last three seasons
• Against Harvard (Nov. 30), who was receiving votes in the AP and Coaches Preseason polls to start the season, the Huskies started and finished strong to end with a 16-point win
• In their second game in three days, the Huskies kept the strong play going with an 18-point victory over Cornell, 84-66 (Dec. 2)
 
LEADING THE WAY
• Vasa Pusica has been the leading point-getter for the Huskies in three of the last four games with (a career-high) 27 points against Utah State, 17 against Furman, 22 against Harvard and another 20-point effort against Cornell (2nd on the team) the last time out
• The San Diego transfer has found his stride as of late after beginning his season with nine, nine, five, and eight point efforts
• Not only is Pusica now averaging a team-leading 14.6 ppg, he has also put up 2.5 rpg and leads the team with 29 assists while adding 11 steals on the year
• Pusica ranks 13th in the CAA in scoring, 6th in assists, and 10th in steals in 2017-18
 
CENTURY MARK
• Northeastern's lone senior Devon Begley is approaching the century mark playing in 98 games for the Huskies in his fourth season on Huntington Ave.
• Begley is also approaching the 500-point mark as a Husky and has tallied 496 points for a 5.1 ppg average
