BOSTON – On Paws for Puerto Rico night at Matthews Arena, the Northeastern men's basketball team blew by Bucknell 82-64, while shooting from a 60.7 percent clip in the second half.

Four players finished with double-digit scoring while another pair added nine points on the night, led by
Vasa Pusica's 17-point, four assist, three steal effort. A trio of Huskies,
Anthony Green, Donnell Gresham and
Devon Begley finished with 11 points while the sophomore duo of
Maxime Boursiquot and
Bolden Brace added nine each. Brace also pulled down a team-leading eight rebounds.

Zach Thomas, who had been averaging 24.1 points and 9.9 rebounds per game entering the contest, was held to 15 points and four rebounds on the game while Nana Foulland added 13 points.

The Matthews Magic continued against the Bison with the 18-point win. Northeastern is now 4-0 at home and has outscored their opponents 326-240 or by 21.5 points per game.

FIRST HALF
After falling behind 11-7 through the first five-an-a-half minutes of play, back-to-back threes from Gresham, created by an offensive board from
Jeremy Miller, and Brace gave the Huskies a 13-11 lead.

After Bucknell got out to a slight lead, Northeastern was able to tie the game up at 19-all midway through the first half on
Tomas Murphy free throw.

The Huskies drew two-straight and-one opportunities to make it a five-point game midway through the first half as Occeus and Boursiquot went back-to-back. Boursiquot added an offensive board and the put back on the ensuing possession to make it a seven-point game. Â

Stephen Brown ended the Husky run with a three for Bucknell followed by a John Meeks layup and capped off by a Brown lay in to tie the game at 28-all with five minutes to go.

But the Huskies jumped out on an 8-0 run highlighted by a Gresham three, and entered the half with a nine-point, 41-32 advantage over the Bison.

SECOND HALF
The Huskies turned the nine-point halftime lead into a 13-point advantage early in the second half, recording three of the of the first four baskets, and forcing Bucknell head coach Nathan Davis call a timeout just over two minutes into the stanza.

Coming out of the break, Green converted an and-one to extend the run to 9-2 to begin the second half and give the Huskies a 16-point advantage.

The Huskies got out to as much as 17 before Bucknell slowly chipped away and got the lead back down to 11 following a pair of free throws by Thomas.
Â
But the Huskies fought back with an 8-2 run that featured a pair of and-one conversions by Begley and Gresham, the fourth and fifth such opportunities of the night for the Huskies.

The Huskies were 4-for-5 on the night in converting their and-one opportunities.
Â
That lead extended to 20 points with five minutes to go as a trey by Brace and a pair of free throws by Pusica made it a 78-58 game.

Murphy gave the Huskies their largest lead of the night, 21 points, on a lay up with just over a minute to go as Northeastern would go on to the 84-68 victory, the team's second-straight 18-point win.

The combined efforts from donations, the silent auction, and ticket sales as well as private donations added up to nearly $4,000 raisedvfor Puerto Rico hurricane relief efforts at Paws for Puerto Rico night.
