CHARLESTON, S.C. – Bolden Brace continued his hot shooting ways when the final shot he threw up with time expiring fell giving the Northeastern men's basketball team a 73-72 victory on the road at the College of Charleston Thursday night.

Brace ran in from beyond the arc, grabbed the offensive rebound off of T.J. Williams' initial miss, and while falling down along the baseline, threw up a prayer that sank as the clock hit zero as Northeastern (14-11, 7-6 CAA) stunned first place Charleston (19-7, 10-3) on their home turf.

The Huskies, who were down by 16 points at the half, stormed out in the second half using a 13-0 run to tie the ball game at 46-all and then followed that with a 10-0 run to take a 56-51 lead, eventually extending that to seven with 5:50 left in the game.

Devon Begley led the charge for the Huskies as he recorded all 16 of his points on the night in the first 11 minutes of the second half, going 4-of-5 from behind the arc during that time frame, helping the Huskies back into the game.

After Joe Chealey tallied eight straight points for the Cougars, with an Alex Murphy layup mixed in, to cut the lead to just one, Jarrell Brantley tied the ball game at 68 on a jumper with just over a minute remaining in the game.

Chealey put Charleston ahead with a pair of free throws, he finished a perfect 9-of-9 from the charity stripe on the night, but Williams went down and drilled a 3-pointer, his fourth of the night, to put the Huskies back on top by one, 71-70 with 44 seconds remaining.

Nick Harris got the Cougars back up 72-71 putting back a Brantley miss, giving the Huskies 22.2 seconds to try and win it.

After Alex Murphy's initial try missed, Brace went up strong and forced the ball out of bounds off of a Charleston defender to give Northeastern one more shot with 7.1 seconds left.

Brace then calmly inbounded the ball to Williams, who sent up his try falling away in the paint. After seeing Williams take his shot, Brace rushed in, gathered the rebound and tallied the game-winning bucket for the Huskies.

The reigning CAA Rookie of the Week finished with nine points and five assists on the night while also making two blocks and two steals. Williams added 14 points and seven assists while Alex Murphy had a team-high 19 points and eight rebounds for Northeastern.

Also aiding the Husky comeback was Anthony Green who finished with his first career double-double, the fifth Husky to record a double-double this season, with a career-high 15 point, 10 rebound effort.

Green finished 6-of-8 from the field with four dunks on the night and had 10 rebounds, five offensive and five defensive in the victory.

After a hard-fought first 15 minutes of action between the two squads, Charleston raced out to a 16-point halftime lead using an 18-2 run to close out the first half, led by Chealey. Chealey finished with a game-high 28 points while adding three rebounds and three assists on the night.

The Huskies return home for their final homestand of the season. The three-game home swing will begin with a Saturday night contest against Hofstra at 7 p.m. at Matthews Arena.
