BOSTON – Chasing its first derby win against Boston University since 2008, the Northeastern men's soccer team will ride across town on Tuesday, Oct. 16, to Nickerson Field, where the Huskies will renew their rivalry with the Terriers during a 7 p.m. non-conference match.

SERIES HISTORY

• Although Northeastern trails the all-time series against Boston University, 22-7-2, the Huskies have posted a 7-10-2 record against the Terriers since 1995.

• NU has gone 1-4-1 against BU since the Huskies departed the America East conference before the 2005 season.

• Northeastern's last victory at Nickerson Field took place during the 2003 America East quarterfinals, when the fifth-seeded Huskies buried two first half goals en route to upsetting the fourth-seeded Terriers, 3-0.

• During the 2017 meeting at Parsons Field, Dan Munch scored Northeastern's equalizing goal during the 77th minute, countering Matt McDonnell's go-ahead finish during the 37th minute.

WHAT 2 WATCH 4

• NU is 4-0-0 when scoring first this season.

• Freshman forward Ryan Massoud's nine rookie points during 2018 qualify as the most by a Northeastern first-year player since Khesanio Hall's 11-point season during 2015. Massoud's nine points are also the most by a true NU freshman since Frantzdy Pierrot's 15-point, 2014 campaign.

• Northeastern seniors Martin Nygaard and Harry Swartz broke their tie with Ryan Massoud as the Huskies' active leader in goals scored (five) on Oct. 10 against Hofstra. The duo scored less than five minutes apart from each other before the match's hour mark.

• Moustapha Samb is two-for-two in penalty kick conversions this year. His 23rd-minute penalty kick goal on Oct. 10 marked the Huskies' inaugural first half goal of the season (10th match).

• The Huskies rank third in the CAA in fewest goals conceded (11) and sport a +4 goal differential during their last six matches.

UP NEXT

Northeastern will continue its push for the CAA tournament on Saturday, Oct. 20, when the Huskies visit College of Charleston. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
