NORTHEASTERN HUSKIES QUICK HITS
• The No. 8 Northeastern women's hockey team (4-1-1, 3-0-1 WHEA) will look to extend its unbeaten streak in Hockey East play to five straight games on Friday when Providence visits Matthews Arena. The Huskies will then welcome rival Boston University to Matthews Arena on Sunday for a 2 p.m. puck drop.
• NU has not gone unbeaten in its first five Hockey East games since 2015-16 when the Huskies started the league slate with six straight wins.
• The Huskies will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak at the hands of the Friars. Providence swept the season series last year by scores of 2-1, 6-4 and 1-0.
• Northeastern has won three straight games entering Friday's matchup, including a 3-0 victory over No. 10 Maine last Friday and a 3-1 triumph at New Hampshire on Sunday. The Huskies have not allowed more than three goals in a game in each of the last 13 contests dating back to last season.
• Senior forward
Tori Sullivan has eight points (3-5-8) in 11 career games (with BC and NU) vs. Providence. Sullivan notched her 80th collegiate point (55 with BC, 25 with NU) with a goal against Maine last Friday.
• Sullivan ranks 10th among Hockey East's active career scoring leaders in league play with 42 points against WHEA opponents. Senior
Kasidy Anderson also appears on the list as the 7th-highest active career scorer in league play with 45 points vs. Hockey East foes.
• Since the start of the 2017-18 season, Anderson has scored 12 of her 17 goals on home ice, including three goals in three home games this year. In her career, Anderson has potted 24 of her 38 collegiate goals at home, good for a 63% clip.
• Senior defender
Maddie Hartman has produced more assists against Providence than any other team in her collegiate career, having dished out seven helpers in 11 games vs. the Friars. Roughly 20% of Hartman's 34 collegiate assists have come against Providence.
• Sophomore forward
Veronika Pettey was named the Hockey East Player of the Week on Monday after tallying three points against Maine and New Hampshire last weekend. Pettey has notched at least a point in all six games this season, including four multi-point efforts.
• Pettey is the fourth Husky to be recognized on the Hockey East weekly honor roll this season, joining
Gillian Foote (Rookie of the Week on Oct. 8),
Aerin Frankel (Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 8) and
Brittany Bugalski (Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 15).
• Pettey ranks second in Hockey East in both points (10) and power-play goals (3) this season. The Potomac, Maryland native has recorded 37 points in her first 45 collegiate games – an average of 0.82 points per game for her career.
• Sophomore defender
Brooke Hobson leads all Hockey East blue-liners in points (7) and power-play points (5) this season. Hobson already has three multi-point games this season after not registering a single multi-point effort during her rookie year.
• Hobson scored NU's first goal – and the eventual game-winner – against Maine last Friday; the Huskies are 4-0-0 this year when scoring first compared to 0-1-1 when opponents strike first.
• Freshman
Alina Mueller extended her point-streak to five straight games with a goal on Sunday at New Hampshire. With six points (2-4-6) in six games this season, Mueller ranks third in Hockey East in rookie scoring, and leads the league in faceoff wins among freshmen with 64 (next highest is 50).
• Sophomore
Aerin Frankel is one of only two NCAA goaltenders (Maine's Loryn Porter) with two shutouts this season. Frankel's 1.01 GAA ranks fifth in the nation, while her .963 save percentage ranks third nationally.
• Frankel and senior goaltender
Brittany Bugalski have combined for a 1.48 GAA and a .949 save percentage through five games.
• Bugalski earned her 52nd collegiate win with a 17-save effort at UNH on Sunday. Bugalski needs four more wins to move into third place all-time at NU in career victories.
