BOSTON – After finishing the 2018 regular season one point off the top of the CAA table, the Northeastern women's soccer team will look to defend its home ground, Parsons Field, during the league semifinal round on Sunday, Oct. 28, when the second-seeded Huskies battle the third-seeded Hofstra Pride at 1 p.m. for a spot in next weekend's championship match.
 
TICKETS
 
Tickets to Sunday's CAA semifinal are free for all Northeastern students. General tickets will be on sale at the Parsons Field gate for $5.
 
PROMOTIONS
 
• Northeastern Women's Soccer T-shirt Giveaway:  The first 200 fans in attendance of Sunday's CAA semifinal will receive a free Northeastern women's soccer T-shirt.
 
• Shuttles to Parsons Field:  Available for Northeastern students, free shuttles to Parsons Field will depart from Chicken Lou's beginning at 12 p.m. and continue during the hour lead-up before kickoff at 1 p.m.

PARKING
 
Fans should be advised that there is limited first-come, first-serve parking available at Parsons Field. Town of Brookline parking rules are in effect for all street parking located outside the facility.
 
SERIES HISTORY
 
• Northeastern won its Oct. 4 regular season match at Hofstra, 1-0, despite the Huskies charting seven fewer attempts than the Pride (20-13). Chelsea Domond scored the lone goal of the match during the 26th minute, putting the finishing touches on Lizzie George's through ball from the backfield.
 
• Upon defeating Hofstra during the 2018 regular season, Northeastern snapped its four-match series losing streak against the Pride and achieved the program's first-ever 5-0-0 record during CAA play.
 
• Since 2005, Northeastern and Hofstra have combined to win eight of the 13 contested CAA championships. The two sides have opposed each other during three of those eight title matches (2008, 2014, 2017).
 
• The Huskies' last home point obtained against the Pride was earned during the 2014 CAA title match at Parsons Field.
 
NORTHEASTERN'S CAA SUCCESS
 
• Northeastern has advanced to its sixth CAA semifinal match during the past eight seasons. The Huskies have won four postseason titles during their conference tenure (2008, 2013, 2014, 2016).
 
• NU has made eight consecutive CAA tournament appearances – the longest active streak among league members.
 
• Since 2016, the Huskies have combined to attain a 19-5-3 record during CAA regular season play (21-6-3 record during all CAA competitions).
 
WHAT 2 WATCH 4
 
• Seven Northeastern players garnered year-end all-conference honors during Thursday's 2018 CAA Postseason Awards Show. Senior goalkeeper Nathalie Nidetch, sophomore defender Julianne Ross and senior midfielder Valentina Soares Gache headlined the Huskies' selections, sharing in selections to the All-CAA First Team.
 
• Three of the league's top six goal scorers this season will line up during Sunday's semifinal: Hofstra's Sabrina Bryan (10 goals) and Lucy Porter (eight) versus Northeastern's Hannah Rosenblatt (seven).
 
• Nathalie Nidetch is expected to defend the posts for the Huskies, leading the CAA in save percentage (.831) while entering Sunday ranked second in goals against average (0.82).
 
• Northeastern and Hofstra are locked in a five-way tie for the CAA lead in clean sheets (seven); the five-way tie includes all four CAA semifinalists.

The winner of Sunday's CAA semifinal will advance to the 2018 league championship match on Saturday, Nov. 3, at the site of the highest remaining seed.
