BOSTON – Needing to record at least a draw during its CAA regular-season finale in order to advance to the conference tournament, the Northeastern men's soccer team will put everything on the line on Tuesday, Oct. 30, when the Huskies welcome No. 13 UNCW to Parsons Field for a 6 p.m. kickoff. Tuesday's match will be televised live on NESNplus.

POSTSEASON PICTURE

Northeastern will require at least one point from Tuesday's match (win or draw) to clinch its first CAA tournament berth since 2014.

The Huskies can clinch the No. 5 seed in the CAA tournament and earn the right to oppose No. 4 Delaware during the league quarterfinals if any of the following scenarios unfold on Tuesday:

• Northeastern win AND William & Mary loss/draw
• Northeastern draw AND William & Mary loss

NU can clinch the No. 6 seed in the CAA tournament and earn the right to oppose No. 3 Hofstra during the league quarterfinals if the following scenario unfolds on Tuesday:

• Northeastern draw AND William & Mary win/draw

Else, the Huskies would not advance to the CAA tournament.

SERIES HISTORY

• Northeastern and UNCW have met exclusively as CAA foes since the Huskies first joined the conference before the 2005 season. NU trails the all-time series, 7-5-3.

• The Huskies are projected to oppose a nationally ranked UNCW side for the third time during the last five seasons, having been unsuccessful in dethroning the Seahawks as the No. 23 team during 2014 (2-0 loss) and the No. 22 team during 2015 (1-0 loss).

• Northeastern prevailed, 1-0, during its most recent home match against UNCW at Parsons Field (2016). Gaku Lange cleaned up the rebound from Daniel Arvidsson's attempt during the eighth minute before the Huskies proceeded to blank the Seahawks during the remainder of the match.

ADMISSION & PARKING

Entry to all Northeastern men's soccer home matches at Parsons Field is free and seating is general admission. Fans should be advised that there is limited first-come, first-serve parking available at Parsons Field. Town of Brookline parking rules are in effect for all street parking located outside the facility.

UP NEXT

Northeastern will await its CAA tournament fate with hopes of advancing to the league quarterfinals, which will take place on Saturday, Nov. 3.
