CHARLESTON, S.C. – Despite a season-high tying 13 3-pointers, including eight in the first half, the Northeastern men's basketball team fell to 16
th ranked Virginia Tech Friday morning at TD Arena in the Semifinals of the Gildan Charleston Classic.
Tomas Murphy finished the game with 11 points while
Jordan Roland chipped in 10 and seven different Huskies contributed a 3FG against the Hokies.
Virginia Tech was led by the duo of Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Justin Robinson who finished with 20 and 19 points respectively.
FIRST HALF
The Huskies and Hokies were neck and neck through the first 15 minutes of action. Every time Virginia Tech gained, Northeastern fought back, and thanks to eight 3-pointers, took their first and only lead of the game 24-23 with 6:12 remaining in the first stanza.
Following that advantage, the Hokies finished the rest of the half on a 23-2 run with Northeastern's lone points coming on a pair of Pusica free throws, and an Ahmed Hill prayer at the buzzer fell to cap the run off heading into halftime.
SECOND HALF
Anthony Green started the second half off with a pair of slams for Northeastern, while back-to-back treys by Brace and
Tomas Murphy made it a 16-point game with 15 minutes to go, but Virginia Tech never let up.

Jason Strong got in on the 3FG action, netting his first career basket with a smooth trey
