2018 NCAA Division I Men's All-Atlantic Region honorees
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – One of the Northeastern men's soccer team's leading offensive threats during his fifth and final season with the Huskies, redshirt-senior captain
Harry Swartz has been named to the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's All-Atlantic Region Third Team, as announced on Wednesday by United Soccer Coaches.
Â
Swartz tallied four points during his 2018 campaign, racking up the most attempts (29) and attempts on target (nine) out of the NU midfield. The striker from Needham, Massachusetts, laced his lone goal of the season – a brilliant, lofting finish from the right side of the box – against Hofstra on Oct. 10 and earned two assists, the latter of which yielded
Dan Munch's golden goal against Holy Cross (Sept. 18).
Â
Starting 14 of Northeastern's 16 matches, Swartz logged the sixth most minutes among the Huskies' field players during 2018. On Nov. 2, he received all-conference consideration for the second consecutive season, garnering placement onto the 2018 All-CAA Second Team.
Â
With undoubted leadership, the three-year Northeastern captain helped guide the Huskies back to the postseason for the first time since his freshman, 2014 season. Upon graduating the program, Swartz led the 2018 squad in career appearances (71), starts (62) and points (15).
Â
Swartz was one of 15 CAA players that received All-Atlantic Region recognition.
