BOSTON
– Led by Donnell Gresham's career-high 26 points, and another 20-point outing for Jordan Roland, the Northeastern men's basketball team held off Oakland 92-83 Saturday afternoon thanks to a 60.4 shooting day by the Huskies at Matthews Arena.

The Huskies season-high 60.4 field goal percentage, came via a 32-of-53 outing from the field, including a perfect 6-of-6 game for Jason Strong, who finished with 13 points and six rebounds.

Gresham netted his career-best 26 points thanks in part to five 3-point field goals, also a career high, while adding seven rebounds and three assists on the day, playing in all 40 minutes. He was also 7-of-10 from the charity stripe, both career numbers for the junior.

Roland's 20-point outing came on 6-of-11 shooting from the field, including a 5-for-5 day from the free throw line while also adding three treys and three assists. Joining the duo in the 15+ point club was Anthony Green, who finished with a career-high tying 16 points, to go along with five rebounds on 7-of-8 shooting.

Bolden Brace filled the stat sheet with six points, five boards, four assists, two steals and a block, while every Husky who got into the game, scored at least one point.

While Oakland was led by a trio of scorers in Xavier Hill-Mais (22 points), Jaevin Cumberland (21 points) and Karmari Newman (19 points) on the day.

FIRST HALF
Green started the half strong for the Huskies netting the first six points of the game for Northeastern before the first media. After the break, Shawn Occeus checked in and made is 2018-19 debut, starting things off right where he left them with a steal, feeding Brace for the fastbreak finish in the midst of a 16-5 Husky run.

After falling behind 11-9 five minutes into play, Huskies went on an 8-0 run spurred by a pair of Strong layups, the Brace lay-in and a Jeremy Miller jumper. Northeastern extended that run eventually to 16-5 thanks to another basket from Strong and back-to-back buckets from Green, which gave him 10 points in the first 10 minutes of action.

A Roland jumper capped the run, which gave the Huskies a 25-16 advantage, one they extended, thanks to Gresham's deep shooting, to 48-32 at the half.

SECOND HALF
The Grizzlies started the second half off on a 14-4 run, including back-to-back treys, forcing Bill Coen to call his first timeout of the game with Oakland within six points, 52-46.

Following that timeout, the Huskies went off on a 12-0 run of their own, to build their lead back up to 18 with 13:11 to go in the game. In the midst of that run, Oakland head coach Greg Kampe was called for a double technical and was ejected from the game, saying goodbye to Coen on his way out.

The ejection got the Golden Grizzlies going and they raced out on a 12-2 run that brought them within a basket of the Huskies, 72-70 with 7:15 to go prompting another Coen timeout.

Out of the break, Jordan Roland completed a three-point play that kept the Grizzlies at bay, though a Cumberland trey made it a one-point ballgame with five minutes to go. Oakland wouldn't get any closer, as Green put the game out of range, with emphasis, slamming down a dunk with just over two minutes to go that sealed the victory.

NEXT UP
Northeastern will have just over a week off for finals before they head back out on the road for the team's final non-conference away game of the year. The Huskies will head up to Burlington for a 2 p.m. Sunday Showdown with Vermont on Dec. 16.
