Eight move up in in record books at Howlin' Huskies Invite

In their first home meet of the season, the Huskies dominate the competition

BOSTON -- The Northeastern track and field team competed in their first home meet of the 2018-19 season on Saturday evening, as they tabbed 12 first place finishes and eight NU record-setting performances. 

Newcomer, Bridget Foote finished in 9:48.01 to slide into the fifth-place spot on the all-time Northeastern list as her first performance of her career in the 3k race. Immediately following the women, Dan Romano moved ahead into seventh place with his 3k time of 8:21.06, tabbing his career personal best. 

In a joint effort, Melissa Purcell and Leah Saifi took second and third, respectively, in the pole vault with a matching height of 3.60m to tie for the seventh place spot in the NU record book. 

In Michelle Nkodou's personal record in the 60m hurdles of 8.87, she was able to edge the tenth place spot in the all-time record books and first for the current 2018-19 season. 

Patrice Williams (1:14.82) and Katie Hanlon (1:15.47) finished side-by-side in the 500m as they slid into the sixth and ninth place, respectively, slots in program history. 

Throwing an impressive 14.14m in the shot put, Zoe Tailtel recorded a career high performance in addition to moving into seventh place in the NU all-time record books.

After the New Year, the Howlin' Huskies will head across the Charles for the Harvard Meet on Jan. 11-12.
