BOSTON – It took another overtime period, but the Northeastern men's basketball team completed the season sweep of UNCW Saturday afternoon at Matthews Arena with a 107-100 victory over the Seahawks.

The Huskies (15-9, 8-4 CAA) turned what was a 13-point deficit in the first half, into as much as a 13-point second half advantage en route the the victory.

The 107 points are the most since a 108-87 victory over George Mason on Dec. 4, 1993.

It looked like Northeastern would pull off the comeback in regulation, but like the last game between these two teams in Wilmington, Ty Taylor had other thoughts. Last time out he hit three free throws to send the game to overtime, today he hit a three at the buzzer to earn five more minutes of action. Taylor finished with 27 points and was 5-of-10 from deep in the game.

The Huskies' comeback efforts were started by Anthony Green who finished with a career-high 16 points while adding four rebounds and a career-best three assists. Green tallied back-to-back dunks to kick start the Huskies' second half run.

Vasa Pusica and Tomas Murphy finished off the comeback as the duo each finished with 20-point efforts on the day. Pusica had 24 points for his ninth 20-point effort of the season while also adding nine assists while Murphy finished with his first career 20-point game and a career-high 21 points. Murphy was 4-for-4 from the free throw line with a layup and a game-solidifying dunk in OT to help the Huskies to the victory.

Every Husky that got into the game finished with at least eight points, while Bolden Brace was a basket shy of his second double-double of the year finishing with 11 rebounds, while Donnell Gresham added 14 points and nine rebounds.

UNCW (7-17, 4-8) was led by Taylor, however Jordon Talley had a gutsy 20-point effort adding six rebounds and a pair of steals. Devonte Cacok finished with 18 points and 17 rebounds.

The Seahawks went on a 12-1 run to take a 16-5 lead early on in the first half scoring nine-straight points, holding the Huskies without a basket for nearly six minutes until Murphy connected on a layup to half the run.

The Huskies clawed back in before the end of the half getting within four as Green streaked down the court and Brace found him with a deep pass for a fastbreak layup to make it a 37-33 ballgame. After a Estime three, Green tipped one back in with 13 seconds to go to make it a 40-35 game at the half.

In the second half, the Huskies came out firing on all cylinders and evened the score before the under-16 media as Shawn Occeus completed a three-point play, while Pusica knotted everything up at 48-all with a free throw.

Occeus gave the Huskies their first lead of the game on a three from the corner and Northeastern continued to build thanks to back-to-back dunks by Green who notched his career-best 16th point on the second, with emphasis.

UNCW fought back into the game, and forced OT despite a season-best 54 second-half points by the Huskies. The Huskies put up 18 points in the five minute stanza for the win.
