BOSTON – The Northeastern men's soccer team, coming off of a season-opening victory over Niagara on Friday night, will head to New York to take on LIU Brooklyn on Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. for its first road contest of the season.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW:

    1. Rookie Massoud shines in collegiate debut

• The season opening win against Niagara on Friday afternoon was the Huskies' first season opening victory since the 2014 season when Northeastern defeated New Hampshire 1-0 at Parsons Field
Chris Gbandi is now 1-1-1 in season openers as head coach of the Huskies
• Northeastern was led by Freshman Ryan Massoud, who scored two goals to lead the Huskies to their 3-0 victory
• With the win, Northeastern improved to 4-0-0 all-time against the Purple Eagles and have now outscored Niagara 20-1 in the series

    2. Northeastern will face LIU Brooklyn for the first time in program history

• Though the Huskies have never faced LIU Brooklyn in program history, the team is 43-31-2 all-time against teams from the state of New York
• Included in that mark is a 3-5-0 mark against teams from the five boroughs
            • Columbia 1-1-0 (Manhattan)
            • Fordham 1-0-0 (Bronx)
            • Manhattan 1-1-0 (Manhattan)
            • St. Francis 0-1-0 (Brooklyn)
            • St. John's 0-2-0 (Queens)

    3. Abrams blanks Niagara in first start of 2018

• Sophomore Noah Abrams got the start in goal to kick off the season playing all 90 minutes against the Purple Eagles on Friday night and earning a shutout in his first start of the season
• Now in three career starts, Abrams has notched a 2-0-1 record with 13 saves in just over 340 minutes of playing time
