BOSTON – The Northeastern men's soccer team, coming off of a season-opening victory over Niagara on Friday night, will head to New York to take on LIU Brooklyn on Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. for its first road contest of the season.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
1. Rookie Massoud shines in collegiate debut
• The season opening win against Niagara on Friday afternoon was the Huskies' first season opening victory since the 2014 season when Northeastern defeated New Hampshire 1-0 at Parsons Field

Chris Gbandi is now 1-1-1 in season openers as head coach of the Huskies
• Northeastern was led by Freshman
Ryan Massoud, who scored two goals to lead the Huskies to their 3-0 victory
• With the win, Northeastern improved to 4-0-0 all-time against the Purple Eagles and have now outscored Niagara 20-1 in the series
2. Northeastern will face LIU Brooklyn for the first time in program history
• Though the Huskies have never faced LIU Brooklyn in program history, the team is 43-31-2 all-time against teams from the state of New York
• Included in that mark is a 3-5-0 mark against teams from the five boroughs

3. Abrams blanks Niagara in first start of 2018
• Sophomore
Noah Abrams got the start in goal to kick off the season playing all 90 minutes against the Purple Eagles on Friday night and earning a shutout in his first start of the season
• Now in three career starts, Abrams has notched a 2-0-1 record with 13 saves in just over 340 minutes of playing time
