BOSTON– The Northeastern men's basketball team is headed out on the road for its first CAA game of the season when they head down to Long Island on Saturday afternoon for a meeting with Hofstra.
The Huskies will take on the Pride, who enter the game on a nine-game win-streak and are undefeated at home this season, at 4 p.m. on CBS College Sports Live at the Mack Complex.
Here is what you need to know about Saturday's game:
THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
1. Prepping for the Pride
SCOUTING THE PRIDE
- Hofstra enters Saturday's game with the Huskies on a nine-game winning-streak
- The Pride are also 9-0 at home this season as Northeastern heads to the Mack Complex for their lone trip of 2018-19
- Last season, the Huskies were able to come away with a victory at Hofstra, their first in five attempts against Hofstra
LEADING THE WAY
- Hofstra senior guard Justin Wright-Foreman, named the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week last week in a 2-0 week for the Pride, leads the team with a 25.7 ppg average while dishing out 57 assists
- Coupling with Wright-Foreman to provide one of the top scoring duos in the country is Eli Pemberton who is putting up 14.4 ppg
- Desure Buie is also averaging double-digits with a 10.2 ppg average while dishing out 73 assists this season
ALL-TIME SERIES
- This will be the 44th meeting between the two teams in a series that Hofstra barely leads 22-21
- Hofstra won five-straight before the Huskies pulled away with a 81-67 victory last season at the Mack Complex
- Prior to that, Northeastern won eight-straight against the Pride from 2011-12 until the 2014-15 season
LAST TIME VS. HOFSTRA
- Three different Huskies finished with double-doubles as Northeastern came away with a win at Hofstra to secure sole possession of first place in the CAA
- Vasa Pusica (16 points, 10 assists), Anthony Green (14 points, 12 rebounds), and Bolden Brace (14 points, 10 rebounds) recorded the third, third and second double-doubles of their careers respectively and first of the season for each of them
- The two teams battled back and forth in the first half until the Huskies' defense held the Pride scoreless for a three-minute span that saw Northeastern gain a 26-16 advantage which helped them head to the locker room with a 36-30 edge
- The team came out in the second half making five of their first six shots, gaining a 12-point advantage securing the lead, and ultimately the win
- The Pride were led by Justin Wright-Foreman who finished with 20 points on 6-of-21 shooting from the field while Rokas Gustys finished with a double-double putting up 13 points and pulling down 13 boards
2. Four-Pointers Galore
- Four times this year, Jordan Roland has connected on the rare four-point play, an act that seems all too common for the junior this season
- Roland's four-point efforts have come against some of the top competition in the country, No. 16 Virginia Tech, RV Davidson, RV Syracuse, and Delaware

3. Double (Double) Double-Doubles
- Against Bucknell, in a dominant performance against one of the Patriot League favorites, five Huskies finished with double-digit scoring, while a pair of Huskies finished with double-doubles
- The double double-double game marked the first time Northeastern had at least two double-doubles in the same game since the trio of Anthony Green (14p, 12r), Vasa Pusica (16p, 10a) and Bolden Brace (14p, 10r) did so against Hofstra last year (Jan. 25, 2018)
- Northeastern achieved the feat once again against Delaware (Dec. 30) when Gresham (12 points, 11 rebounds) and Bolden Brace (18 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists)
- The multiple games with multiple double-doubles marks the first time since the 2016-17 season that the Huskies have achieved that feat
- Brace and T.J. Williams combined for a pair against Maine on Nov. 20 followed by a Williams/Green coupling against Elon (Feb. 23), with Williams' coming in the form of a triple-double
